Our hallmark is rapid delivery and we operate on the

principles of accountability and transparency. To serve as a major channel for resource transfer to the poor by mobilizing funds from Development Partners, Government, Local contributions, Private sector, and engaging in consultancy services on a continuous and sustainable basis through targeted investment, pro-poor planning and management in support of Ghana’s growth agenda. SIF monitors progress of ongoing rehabilitation works at GNA Office in Tema

The Project Implementation Unit (PIU) of the Social Investment Fund (SIF) on 28 July 2026 conducted a monitoring visit to the ongoing rehabilitation works at the Ghana News Agency (GNA) office in Tema to assess the progress of works.

The monitoring exercise revealed that the rehabilitation works are approximately 40% complete, with construction progressing steadily in line with the project schedule. The contractor is expected to complete the works by August 2026.

The visit forms part of SIF's commitment to ensuring that projects are implemented according to the required standards, timelines, and quality specifications.

The Post-COVID-19 Skills Development and Productivity Enhancement Project (PSDPEP) is an initiative financed by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and being implemented by the Social Investment Fund (SIF). The project was approved in June 2022 and became effective in October 2022. The PSDPEP aims to contribute to Ghana's sustainable post-COVID-19 recovery in the health sector and support the restoration of livelihoods, income and employment opportunities and private sector development.
As part of its implementation, the project seeks to strengthen the health and MSMEs communication capacity of the GNA by digitizing its systems and rehabilitating its buildings at four(4) stations in Accra, Tema, Tamale and Takoradi.

Through the Integrated Rural Development Project Phase II (IRDP II), financed by the OPEC Fund for International Development and implemented by the Social Investment Fund (SIF), vital infrastructure is transforming everyday life for families, teachers, and healthcare workers alike.

In Bafourkrom, a new Nurses' Quarters with potable water now stands complete giving healthcare workers a decent place to call home, and strengthening the delivery of care to the community. And also In Baahshed, Nsuatre, teachers now have a place of their own too. A newly completed Teachers' Quarters with potable water is creating a more welcoming environment for educators and a boost for quality education in the area.

Meanwhile, in Fiapre the future of learning is taking shape. At Kyem Amponsah, a 6-unit classroom block with an 8-seater WC facility is 92% complete, while another classroom block nearby has reached 75% both bringing students closer to better teaching and learning spaces.

With an overall progress now at 91.75%, SIF continues to invest in the things that matter most education, healthcare, water, and community resilience proving that when we build together, no community gets left behind.

As part of its implementation, the project seeks to strengthen the health and MSMEs communication capacity of the GNA by digitizing its systems and rehabilitating its buildings at four(4) stations in Accra, Tema, Tamale and Takoradi.
As part of its monitoring activities, a team from the SIF conducted an interim inspection of the ongoing rehabilitation works at the Ghana News Agency (GNA) office in Takoradi.
The inspection was undertaken to assess the progress and quality of the rehabilitation works to ensure they meet the required standards and specifications. Upon completion, the upgraded facility is expected to provide a modern, safe and conducive working environment that will enhance staff productivity and strengthen GNA’s capacity to deliver timely, credible, and accurate news to the public.

As part of the GWYESCO Project, the Ghana Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS) team conducted a productive training session for Social Investment Fund staff, equipping them with the knowledge and practical skills needed to effectively use the GIFMIS platform.

The training focused on strengthening financial management, enhancing transparency, and promoting accountability in the management of public resources. Through the GWYESCO Project, this capacity-building initiative supports more efficient service delivery and empowers staff to effectively manage financial processes using the GIFMIS platform.
