Empowering Persons Living with Disabilities

On Monday, 13th July 2026, Lawyer Jerry Ahmed Shaib joined the Municipal Chief Executive, Honourable Assembly Members, and officials of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly at the Assembly premises for the presentation of livelihood support to 36 persons living with disabilities under the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF)
Disability Fund.

The beneficiaries received various forms of support tailored to their individual needs and proposed livelihoods. Items presented included deep freezers with ice chests and start-up cash, industrial sewing machines, rubber cutting machines, bags of charcoal, assorted business goods, and other income-generating equipment to help them establish and expand their businesses.

Today, I continued visiting communities across the Weija-Gbawe Constituency affected by the recent floods to check on the well-being of constituents and provide relief items to families in need. I also engaged residents on essential precautionary measures to help keep them safe and updated them on arrangements made with some churches and schools to provide temporary shelter if necessary.

In addition, I arranged for medical checks for residents who needed them and ensured that those requiring immediate attention were attended to.

We remain committed to supporting every affected family and working together until our communities fully recover.
