High Commissioner-designate Ronald Micallef at the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment meeting held at Mansion House, London where Commonwealth trade, AI and education featured prominently on the agenda.

Particularly useful discussions were held around future classrooms, connected schools and ethics in education.

Looking forward to building on these discussions in the near future.

This week High Commissioner-designate Ronald Micallef attended the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) meeting held at Mansion House, London where Malta's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs delivered a keynote speech:

This week at the Residence of the Italian Ambassador, the High Commission of Malta in Ghana together with other EU Missions in Accra met H. E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The High Commission was represented by Deputy Head of Mission Dr. Andrea de Bono Sant Cassia.

The meeting offered a valuable opportunity for a constructive exchange on current affairs, reaffirming the importance of dialogue and cooperation.

🇲🇹🇹🇬 On 18 April 2026, the High Commission of Malta was represented by Deputy Head of Mission Andrea De Bono Sant Cassia at the high-level meeting held in Lomé, during which Togo presented its new 2026–2028 Strategy for the Sahel.

The meeting provided an important opportunity for exchange on the evolving political and security landscape in West Africa and the Sahel, bringing together regional and international partners at a particularly significant moment for the region.🇲🇹🇹🇬

On the occasion of Commonwealth Day, we join the peoples and governments of the Commonwealth of Nations in celebrating the shared values that unite our community: democracy, respect, cooperation, and a commitment to sustainable development.

For Malta and Ghana, the Commonwealth is more than a historical association. It is a living network of partnership, dialogue, and opportunity. Our two countries share strong ties in education, trade, culture, and people-to-people exchange, reflecting the spirit of collaboration that the Commonwealth promotes across continents.

As we mark this day, we also recognise the vital role of young people, innovation, and international cooperation in shaping a more inclusive and prosperous future. The Commonwealth continues to provide an important platform where nations-large and small- work together as equal partners.

Malta remains committed to strengthening its engagement with fellow Commonwealth members, including Ghana, and to advancing the principles that bind our community together.
