๐๐๏ธ PROMOTING PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE IN SCHOOLS ๐๏ธ๐
The Western North Regional Peace Council organized a Peace Education and Sensitization Programme for students of Kessikrom Anglican Junior High School and Amafie M/A Basic School as part of efforts to promote peace, tolerance, and inclusivity among young people.
The engagement focused on respecting diversity, peaceful conflict resolution, and preventing violence, bullying, discrimination, and hate speech in schools.
Speaking during the programme, the Ag. Regional Executive Secretary of the Western North Regional Peace Council, Madam Elizabeth Boduwah, emphasized that diversity should be embraced as a strength that promotes understanding, friendship, unity, and peaceful coexistence among students.
She encouraged students to avoid bullying, insults, discrimination, and name-calling, while promoting kindness, cooperation, tolerance, and mutual respect regardless of cultural, religious, or ethnic differences.
Mr. Shadat Fussieni, Assistant Programmes Manager, also advised students to remain disciplined, security conscious, and responsible in their use of mobile phones and social media. He urged students to report unsafe situations to trusted adults and emphasized the collective responsibility of parents, teachers, and communities in protecting children.
The programme forms part of the Councilโs commitment to nurturing responsible young peace ambassadors and creating safe, supportive, and inclusive school environments.
