H. E. John Dramani Mahama has inaugurated the Teshie-Nungua Sea Water Desalination Project. This project is the first ever desalination plant in the country, and it is currently producing 13.2 million gallons of water daily.
Over 500,000 people within Teshie, Nungua, the Teshie Military barracks, Baatsonaa, Sakumono and parts of La-Dadekotopon are benefiting from this treatment plant. It is being implemented through a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) mechanism.
