The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), Ms. Margaret Ansei, joined stakeholders at the launch of MTN SME Accelerate 2026, held under the theme, “Business Done Smarter, Faster and Better.”
The initiative is designed to support SMEs with practical interventions in digital readiness, mentorship, market access and improved business practices, equipping entrepreneurs to operate more efficiently and compete in a changing business environment.
In her remarks, Ms. Ansei highlighted the important role SMEs play in Ghana’s economic transformation. She noted that the growth of the private sector depends largely on the ability of small businesses to move beyond survival and build sustainable, competitive enterprises.
She also stressed the need to extend enterprise development opportunities beyond Accra, ensuring that entrepreneurs across the country have access to the knowledge, networks and resources they need to unlock new opportunities and strengthen their enterprises.
The Agency commends MTN Ghana for its continued investment in Ghana’s SME ecosystem and remains committed to working with stakeholders whose interventions complement government’s efforts to create an enabling environment where enterprises can formalise, expand, create jobs and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s economic development.
