69TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION IN ACHIASE DISTRICT.
The Achiase District Assembly in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service (GES) celebrated the 69th Independence Day at the district capital, Achiase. The event formed part of the nationwide celebration of Ghana Independence Day, which commemorates Ghana’s independence and promotes patriotism among citizens.
The ceremony brought together traditional authorities, officials from the District Assembly, education officers, teachers, students, and members of the public. In total, eighteen (18) schools within Achiase community participated in the parade and other activities organized to mark the occasion.
The participating schools displayed discipline and enthusiasm through well-coordinated marching drills and other performances, which were admired by dignitaries and the general public.
At the end of the parade, awards and certificates were presented to the best-performing schools. The top three (3) schools in both the Primary and Junior High School (JHS) categories were honoured with certificates and awards for their outstanding performance during the parade.
In addition, the District Assembly which was led by Hon. Samuel Owusu Brako(DCE) also recognized academic excellence by awarding the best three (3) students in the district who performed exceptionally well in the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). The awards were presented to encourage students to strive for excellence in their academic pursuits.
The celebration successfully brought together stakeholders in education and the community to reflect on the nation’s progress and to inspire the younger generation to contribute positively to national development.
