The Akuapem North Municipal Assembly (ANMA) was first established as a District Assembly by Legislative Instrument 1430 in 1988 under the decentralization system to take control of the day-to-day running of the Municipality.

ANMA HOLDS STAFF DUBAR

The management and staff of the Akuapem North Municipal Assembly on Friday 28th August 2026 converged at the conference hall of the assembly to share updates with staff regarding the recent unannounced visit of the Head of Service (HoS) and subsequent matters arising.

Management took the opportunity to announce new reforms and strategies to ensure optimum staff conduct and improve service delivery.

The MCE, Hon. John Evans Kumordzie had some strong words of caution to staff and management to be discipline at all times and exhibit absolute professionalism in the ex*****on of their duties.

ANMA HOLDS FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION SUB-COMMITTEE MEETING

Members of the Finance and Administration Sub-committee of the Akuapem North Municipal Assembly converged at the conference hall of the assembly on Wednesday 22nd July, 2026.

As part of the agenda were discussions of the first and second quarter budget/revenue and expenditure performance as well as presention and discussion of the 2026 Mid-Year composite budget review amongst others.

ANMA HOLDS SECOND QUARTER BUDGET COMMITTEE MEETING

The Budget Committee met its stakeholders at the conference hall of the Assembly on Monday 20th July 2026.

On the agenda were discussions of the second quarter performance, revenue and expenditure as well as the 2026 Mid-Year Review and RIAP (Revenue Improvement Action Plan) implementation among other pertinent matters.

ANMA HOLDS ENVIRONMENT AND SANITATION SUB-COMMITTEE MEETING

Members of the Environment and Sanitation Sub-Committee met at the conference hall of the Municipal Assembly on Thursday 16th July 2026 to discuss and brief members on the upcoming health screening of food vendors as well as the unauthorized rearing of pigs in the municipality amongst others.

ANMA HOLDS TOURISM SUB-COMMITTEE MEETING

On Wednesday 15th July 2026, members of the Tourism Sub-Committee of the Akuapem North Municipal Assembly converged at the conference hall of the assembly for its scheduled meeting.

Discussions on the impact of the impending 200th Anniversary of the Odwira festival took center stage as well as inspection of various hospitality centers amongst others.

ANMA HOLDS 2026 SECOND QUARTER MPCU MEETING

On Tuesday 30th June 2026, the Municipal Planning and Coordinating Unit (MPCU) met its stakeholders at the Assembly’s auditorium.

On the agenda were the presentations on status of Implementation of Action Plans by heads of the various departments and units as well as the Mid-Year review of the composite AAP amongst others.

Decentralized departments and units in attendance included Urban Roads, NCCE, Agric, NADMO, Fire Service, ECG, Development Planning,Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Health Service, Ghana Ambulance Service etc.

ANMA COMMEMORATES 2026 WORLD DAY AGAINST CHILD LABOUR

On Friday 12th June 2026, the Akuapem North Municipal Assembly organized a program to commemorate the 2026 World Day Against Child Labour at the Christ Presbyterian Church in Akropong.

In attendance were the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. John Evans Kumordzi, the Member of Parliament for Akuapem North Hon. Sammi Awuku, the department of Social Welfare and Community Development among other distinguished dignitaries.

ANMA MEETS OKADA AND PRAGYA OPERATORS

The Management of the Akuapem North Municipal Assembly in collaboration with the Police Comand and related security services met with operators of Okada and Pragya (commercial motor and tricycle riders) within the municipality on Wednesday 10th June 2026 at the conference hall of the Assembly.

The objective of the meeting was to urgently address the general concerns of the populace in relation to the negative activities and misconduct of most commercial motor bike operators, the blatant disregard of the road traffic regulations as well as other social vices commonly associated with their operations.

ANMA COMMEMORATES NATIONAL SANITATION DAY

The Chief Executive, Hon. John Evans Kumordzie joined residents of Tutu-Akuapem on Saturday 6th June 2026 in observing the 6th Edition of the National Sanitation Day within the municipality. The exercise reaffirmed our collective commitment to a cleaner, healthier, and beautiful municipality.
