Green Ghana Day and World Environment Day.
The program was organised by Mr. Patrick Oppong, CEA Onomabo operational area in collaboration with Callighana and Crop Life in Onomabo. 174 (122 males, 52 females) participants made up of farmers from Nsuafua, Ohiafo, Onomabo and school pupils from Onomabo D/A School attended the program.
The idea of the program was to sensitized farmers to protect the environment. The various activities that are carried out in our farms such as bush burning, indiscriminate cutting of tress, littering around with chemical containers after use and other related acts which has been the habit of our farmers should be ceased as it destroys the environment.
To help mitigate this manace, CalliGhana distributed 500 tree seedlings to farmers to plant in their various farms. Crop Life also provided Onomabo community with a container to collect all used chemicals bottles for recycling.
