The Bole- Bamboi constituency which is the home constituency of the president is the highest receiver with about 19 appointments. The complaint of many is that despite the weight of the president, his home constituency have received not just the highest appointments but very lucrative and strategic ones. Others also bring in the tribal factor that almost all the 19 appointees in the constituency are Gonjas thereby leaving out the Vagalas, Mos, Birifors and Safalbas. Worthy of mentioning is the anger of the people of Bole because of the removal of Prof. Zakariah Nuhu as the CEO for Ghana Ambulance Service. According to them since he occupied the position, he has been influencial in the employment of many youth of Bole into the service, hence his removal has taken that benefit away from them.
The Yapei- Kusawgu constituency is the second highest receiver with nine ( 9) appointments. Whereas many has praised the MP of the area who is also the minister of energy and transition for pushing some of his constituents into agencies under his ministry, other Gonjas in other constituencies feel that he hasn't extended his hand of help to them. Another complaint that has catch fire is that nobody from the Debre Traditional Area have been appointed despite the loyalty of that area to the NDC.
The Salaga South constituency follows the Yapei-Kusawgu constituency with the highest number of appointments having 7. Many people in the constituency are not only complaining of two siblings, Madam Joyce Bawah and John Bawah but they also hammer on the issue that both appointees though hails from the constituency but have no direct link with members of the constituency. Many are not also happy that Hajia Zuwera is not appointed either a substantive minister of state or a deputy minister of state. They argue that as the only female MP of the region, she should have been rewarded with that appointment to serve as a stimulus to other females in the region.
The Damongo constituency which host the regional capital has only 5 appointments. The death of Sandanpewura Alhaji Limuna Muniru who was the deputy national security coordinator in charge of human security has left one faction of the NDC in the constituency hopeless. Factually, his appointment came as a sign of relief to supporters of the party who seem not to be in the good books of Mr. Adam Mutawakilu Garlus. Many are therefore agitating for his replacement with either Mr. Bakari Ali or Lawyer Mumuni Baba Zankawah who are members of the Alhaji Muniru faction of the party in the constituency. The Larabanga zone of the constituency as well as supporters of Lawyer Baba Zankawah are not happy with his exclusion from the government structure. They press home the point that it is all an attempt to suppress him from contesting in the next parliamentary primaries when the time is due.
In the Daboya- Mankargu constituency, voices are raised on the fact that Mr. Abu Hassan Mahama Azanji and Mr. Sorku Yawuza even though are natives of Daboya but politically, they have no influence and impact on the constituency because they are based in Tamale. A significant number of the people are not also happy because Dr. Ahmed Dawale who has endered himself with the youth is not appointed.
In the Sawla/Tuna/Kalba and Salaga North constituencies, there is the cry out there that the president has not seen anybody in the Constituencies worthy of appointment to any strategic position. The constituents of Sawla/ Tuna/ Kalba agigate that since they have always voted for the NDC in both presidential and parliamentary elections since 1992 to date, they needed to be compensated with a juicy appointment.
