Hon Adamu Sayibu(DCE), District Coordinating Director and Staff of the Wa East District Assembly cut sod for the underlisted construction works. All contractors were present to start the construction works today, 11th August, 2026 and are expected to complete the work in six months from today.
1. 3 units classroom block with mechanized borehole, Toilet facility and changing Room at Katua

2. 2 units KG block with teachers offices, Toilet facility and furniture at Goripie.

Both communities were grateful to the DCE and the whole District Assembly for the consideration given them.

Adamu Sayibu) Joined the Wa East Health Directorate in their 2026 MID Year Performance Review Meeting to review and take Precautionary Measures for an improved health services delivery in the Wa East district. The Upper West Regional Minister, Regional Coordinating Director and some staff from the Regional Coordinating Council had an engagement with the staff of Wa East District Assembly to interact and discuss issues on modern ways of executing their assigned job roles to ensure excellence in work output. He explained Government intentions and plans to develop the Wa East District. This engagement was successful and some staff members tabled concerns for consideration.

Earlier today, the District Chief Executive for Wa East, Hon. Adamu Sayibu, on behalf of the Member of Parliament for Wa East, Hon. Dr. Godfred Seidu Jasaw officially handed over the contractor for the rural electrification project to the people of Chasia and Kakalipuo.
The project is expected to provide electricity to both communities, marking another significant step in improving infrastructure and enhancing the livelihoods of residents.
Speaking during the ceremony, members of the two communities expressed their profound gratitude to the Member of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Godfred Seidu Jasaw, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Adamu Sayibu and the entire NDC government for fulfilling this important development commitment.
The District Chief Executive encouraged the residents to regard the contractors as partners in development, cooperate with them throughout the implementation of the project, and provide the necessary support to ensure the successful completion of the work.
This project got stalled after the 2016 elections, and the current NDC government is determined to complete it with the addition of many more communities.

The Wa East District Education Oversight Committee held a meeting today to review, update and plan on the status of Education in the Wa East district. Hon. Adamu Sayibu (DCE), Pln. Alidu Abukari Abdul Razack(DCD) and Mr. Yahaya Mumuni A. (GES Director) are working together to ensure effective and efficient supervision on all Educational activities to facilitate enabling environment for sound learning, sports(games) and other Educational Activities in the Wa East District.
