ASOGLI ANTI-CORRUPTION DAY FORUM 2026

The Asogli Anti-Corruption Day Forum was held on Tuesday, 29 September 2026, at the Asogli Palace Forecourt, as part of the Asogli Te Za 2026 celebrations.

The forum was chaired and hosted by His Royal Majesty Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, under the theme:

“Together in Purpose and Integrity, Nurturing Trust and Responsibility for National Development.”

The programme brought together key stakeholders from across the public and private sectors, including personnel from the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, as well as representatives of other state-owned institutions, private organisations and civil society.

The forum featured thought-provoking engagements from Daniel Dormelevo, Chairman of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), and investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni, who addressed issues surrounding corruption, accountability, integrity and the collective responsibility required to strengthen national development.

A significant cultural and educational component of the programme was the inclusion of choral and cultural performances, featuring students and groups from Mawuli School, OLA Senior High School, Mawuko Girls’ Senior High School, Nobody Cultural Group, Ho Bankoe E.P. Church Choir, Kpetoe Church Choir, among others.

Through dialogue, music and cultural expression, the forum highlighted the importance of nurturing integrity, responsibility and ethical leadership, particularly among the younger generation, while reinforcing the shared responsibility of individuals, institutions and communities in the fight against corruption.

ASOGLI TEYUYRU CARNIVAL 2026

The Asogli Teyuyru Carnival came alive on Friday as the streets of Ho were transformed into a vibrant celebration of culture, creativity and community spirit as part of the 2026 Asogli Te Zã.

The colourful procession brought together traditional groups, youth, cultural enthusiasts and residents in a display of music, dance, costumes and artistic expression, reflecting the rich cultural heritage and unity of the Asogli people.

From the energetic performances to the spectacular costumes and enthusiastic participation, the carnival provided a platform for the younger generation to connect with tradition while expressing their creativity in a modern and engaging way.

The celebration further solidify the spirit of Asogli Te Zã 2026 — “United in Purpose, United in Progress”, bringing people together in a shared celebration of identity, culture and community.

2026 Asogli Te Zã || Volta Economic Forum 2026

As part of the 2026 Asogli Te Zã, the Volta Economic Forum was held in Ho on 23 September 2026, bringing together traditional leaders, government officials, investors, business leaders and development stakeholders to discuss practical pathways for accelerating economic development in the Volta Region.

Held under the theme “From Opportunity Showcase to Investment Execution,” the Forum sought to move the conversation beyond identifying the region’s economic potential towards attracting investment, creating businesses and generating sustainable employment.

The occasion was chaired by HRM Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of Asogli State, who used the platform to call for greater unity, coordination and selfless commitment among stakeholders. He highlighted opportunities in agriculture, tourism, energy, infrastructure and trade, while pointing to projects such as the proposed Keta Harbour, improved railway connectivity and the Eastern Corridor Road as areas requiring sustained investment and collaboration.

Reflecting on previous regional development initiatives, Togbe Afede noted that inadequate coordination, poor planning, limited data, politicisation and insufficient cooperation had hindered earlier efforts. He therefore urged Voltarians to embrace honesty, hard work, innovation, education, perseverance and a stronger commitment to the development of the region.

The Forum also featured the Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, who emphasised the region’s readiness to attract businesses and investment, alongside other captains of industry, investors and development partners. Lead Convener Dr Elikplim K. Apetorgbor stressed that the success of the Forum should ultimately be measured by capital mobilised, businesses established, projects implemented and jobs created.

The Forum therefore served as an important platform within Asogli Te Zã 2026 for bringing together leadership, expertise and investment interests around a shared vision for transforming the Volta Region’s opportunities into tangible economic development.

AWA Welcomes New E190 Aircraft

Asogli State extends warm congratulations to Africa World Airlines (AWA) on the arrival of its first Embraer E190 aircraft, a significant milestone in the airline’s growth and its ambition to strengthen air connectivity across Africa and beyond.

The new aircraft comes shortly after the successful relaunch of AWA’s Accra–Abidjan–Accra route, marking another important step in the airline’s vision of “Touching Africa, touching the world.”

The milestone reflects the resilience and commitment of AWA, founded by His Royal Majesty Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of Asogli State, alongside its management, staff, partners and loyal customers.

Asogli State is pleased to witness this important achievement and celebrates the continued growth of an institution that contributes to Ghana’s aviation industry and the broader development and connectivity of the African continent.
