LITERACY ADVOCACY AND MOBILE LIBRARY SERVICES

Staff from the Volta Regional Library led by Jonas Lagoh with the mobile library van visited Kasu M/A Basic School in the Ketu North Municipality.

This visit falls under a broader effort to reach communities without a library and to extend access to library services for students in those communities.

Pupils at Kasu M/A Basic were registered and issued books. This was sponsored by Dr Justice Ablordey Akpabla Torgbui Dahume Anavodu Wortaklãsu, who believes there is a need to revive literacy activities in the community.

The pupils were engaged in various literacy activities: a reading competition, spelling, and a puzzle-solving session.

The pupils expressed great interest in the activities and showed their aptitude for learning.

Many thanks to the headteacher, teachers, and the PTA chairman for being part of the program.

The library is open to greater collaboration with stakeholders.
