KETA NADMO ENGAGES WOMEN’S GROUP ON DISASTER PREPAREDNESS
Keta NADMO on Friday, 18th April 2026, engaged members of the Women’s Home and Overseas Missionary Society of the A.M.E. Zion Church, Keta District, during their Missionary Mass Meeting at Living Hope Society, Tegbi Ashiata.
The session focused on disaster preparedness as the rainy season approaches. Participants were educated on staying alert to weather conditions such as heavy rainfall, windstorms, and thunderstorms.
Practical safety measures discussed included clearing gutters to prevent flooding, securing roofing sheets, identifying safe shelters, and cutting down weak trees to reduce risks. Fire safety was also highlighted, with emphasis on the proper handling and safe placement of gas cylinders.
Special attention was given to the vulnerability of women and children during disasters. Participants were encouraged to take active roles in promoting safety and supporting Keta NADMO as community volunteers.
Keta NADMO expressed appreciation to Rev. Godson Kwabla Ocloo, Presiding Elder of A.M.E. Zion Church, Keta District, Miss Aurelia Tudzi, District President of W.H. & O.M.S., and the leadership of the Society for the invitation and warm reception.

Keta Municipal Assembly Holds CLOGSAG Local Union Elections
The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) Local Union at the Keta Municipal Assembly successfully held its elections on Thursday, 16th April 2026, at the Municipal Assembly Hall.
The event brought together staff of the Assembly, representatives from the Regional Secretariat of CLOGSAG, officials from the Electoral Commission, and invited guests. The programme was chaired by the Municipal Director of Agriculture, Mr. Godwin Tettey, on behalf of the Municipal Coordinating Director. The opening prayer was offered by Mr. Daniel Agbeko from the Works Department.
In his welcome address, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Seth Kpodji, encouraged members to participate actively and vote for leaders with integrity and commitment. He also stressed the importance of unity, cooperation, and dialogue between management and staff for effective service delivery.
The Regional Secretary of CLOGSAG later presented a report and encouraged improved performance from the Physical Planning and Works Departments. He also expressed hope for positive outcomes from ongoing engagements with government.
The Electoral Commission of the Keta Municipality conducted the election after the Vetting Committee, made up of Mr. Godslove and Madam Charity, cleared all aspirants. Voting was peaceful and lasted about forty five minutes.

• Mr. Ekow Triumph — 59 votes (Winner)
• 1 rejected ballot
Chairman
• Mr. Jones Nketiah — 79 votes (Winner)
• Mr. Selorm Adigbli — 27 votes
• 1 rejected ballot
Mr. Jones Nketiah retained his position as Chairman, while Mr. Ekow Triumph also maintained his position as Organizing Secretary.
The newly elected executives were sworn into office by Mr. Godwin Tettey on behalf of the Municipal Coordinating Director.
The election ended peacefully, with members expressing satisfaction with the process. The newly elected leaders thanked staff for their support and pledged to work in unity for the welfare of members.

🚨 KETA NADMO ENGAGES CHURCHES ON DISASTER PREPAREDNESS
On 18th March 2026, the Keta Municipal Office of NADMO held an impactful engagement with churches in the southern part of Keta to strengthen disaster risk reduction and preparedness.
Participants were educated on safety measures following alerts from the Ghana Meteorological Agency on possible thunderstorms, windstorms, and heavy rains in the coming season.
Key actions encouraged include:

âś… Provision of first aid boxes
âś… Formation of disaster volunteer groups
âś… Regular clean-up exercises (desilting gutters)
âś… Continuous education on safety and preparedness

KETA MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY SUPPORTS PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES WITH START-UP KITS AND CAPITAL

The Keta Municipal Assembly has supported 14 persons with disabilities and their caregivers with start-up kits and financial assistance to expand their livelihoods.

The support, presented on March 11, 2026, was facilitated by the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development and funded through the 3% allocation of the District Assemblies’ Common Fund (DACF) dedicated to persons with disabilities.

Beneficiaries received items such as deep freezers, irrigation machines, industrial sewing machines, and other tools to help strengthen their income-generating activities.

Speaking at the presentation, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Wisdom Seade, encouraged beneficiaries to use the support wisely to improve their livelihoods, emphasizing that “disability is not inability.”

The initiative reflects the Assembly’s commitment to promoting inclusivity, economic empowerment, and improved livelihoods for persons with disabilities in the municipality.

**WORKS MINISTER COMMISSIONS ANYAKO–KONU–SEVA MECHANISED WATER PROJECT**

On **March 10, 2026**, the Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources, **Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei**, commissioned a mechanised water project at **Anyako in the Keta Municipality**, bringing relief to communities that have faced water challenges for over 20 years.

The project, completed in less than five months, will provide **clean and safe drinking water** to the people of **Anyako, Konu, Seva, and surrounding communities**. The facility includes a **pump house, portable water treatment unit, transmission pipelines, and a distribution network**, designed to supply water to households and standpipes.

Hon. Adjei noted that the project forms part of the Government’s **“Big Push” infrastructure agenda**, aimed at improving key sectors including water, health, education, roads, and agriculture. The system also features **smart taps and a solar hybrid power system** to ensure efficiency, accountability, and sustainability.

The **Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu**, described the project as a major step toward improving water access in the region and urged authorities and community members to ensure proper maintenance of the facility.

**Togbi Badu IV**, Head of the Klevia Clan and Chairman of the occasion, together with **Hon. Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey (MP), Hon. Wisdom Seade (MCE), and Mr Vincent Kuagbenu (CEO of CWSA)**, welcomed the project and expressed appreciation to the government for addressing the long-standing water challenges in the area.

The project is expected to **improve health, reduce water-borne diseases, and enhance the living conditions of beneficiary communities.**

Mr. Christopher Mensah Retained as Presiding Member of Keta Municipal Assembly
Mr. Christopher Mensah has been unanimously retained as the Presiding Member (PM) of the Keta Municipal Assembly for a second consecutive term.
The election, which was witnessed by all 34 Assembly Members, municipal officials, traditional leaders, and other key stakeholders, was conducted in accordance with Section 17 of the Local Government Act, 2016 (Act 936). Mr. Mensah, who ran unopposed, secured a 100% endorsement from the Assembly Members, demonstrating strong confidence in his leadership.
The process was supervised by officials from the Electoral Commission, with the results officially declared by the Municipal Director of the EC, Madam Debbie Janet Akpaloo. Also present at the event were the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Seth Kpodji, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Wisdom Seade, and other senior officials of the Assembly.
In his acceptance remarks, Mr. Mensah expressed appreciation to the Assembly Members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to continue providing open and inclusive leadership that will promote constructive deliberations and support the development of the municipality.
Mr. Mensah, a professional teacher at Keta Adzido School and former Assembly Member for the Adzido Electoral Area, was first elected Presiding Member in 2024. His re-election reflects the Assembly’s trust in his commitment to participatory governance and development in the Keta Municipality.
