BRIEF HISTORY
EFFIDUASE TECHNICAL INSTITUTE E/R
The above institute was established under the Industrial Schools and Institutions Ordinance of 1945 in Koforidua, Eastern Region; as the Boy’s Remand Home in 1963 under the management of the Department of Social Welfare. In 1986 the Boy’s Vocational Training Centre was also established and attached to the Remand Home. The enrollment of girls to the
training center began in 1996 and the school was re-named Social welfare Vocational Training Centre. In the year 2021, under the Pre-Tertiary Education Act, 2020 Act 1049; the school was re-aligned to the Ghana Technical and Vocational Education and Training service (GTVETS) Institutions, and managed by TVET Service under the Ministry of Education. Over the years, the school has performed creditably in the NVTI and NABPTEX Examinations and has trained a number of students who have become responsible citizens, and either entrepreneurs or working with reputable companies including government agencies. The Institute offers the following programs:
