RIV PROTOTYPE FOR GNFS ARRIVES IN GHANA

The Chief Fire Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service, Mr. Julius Kuunuor earlier this afternoon inspected the Rapid Intervention Vehicle (RIV) prototype received from Toyota Ghana with some Directors of the Service at National Headquarters.

The RIVs shall be deployed to accident prone areas, strategic locations with sensitive national installations and all District Fire Stations without fire engines in the country.

This Rapid Intervention Vehicle (RVI) prototype is a compact perfect all-rounder search, rescue and firefighting vehicle that will help the Service to promptly respond to emergencies even in difficult terrain. It is specifically designed and fitted to extinguish small fires, vehicular fires, rescue trapped people from buildings, pump floodwater from flooded areas, and attend to Road Traffic Collisions (RTCs) incidents.
