Mission Viral | Ashanti Regional Library

On Thursday, 20th August 2026, Prince and Appiah, Coordinators at the Ashanti Regional Library, continued engaging young learners aged 13–18 from Adventist Senior High School through Mission Viral, an interactive game that makes learning about misinformation fun, practical, and meaningful.
Through a simple story, learners discovered how one unverified message can quickly spread from one person to many. The big question was: “Have I verified this before sharing?”

The lesson was simple: Pause. Check. Read. Research. Consult. Then share.
A special appreciation to Madam Mary Ansah, Teacher in the Business Department, for her remarkable support and dedication. Education is not only about reading, it is also about creating engaging platforms that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and confident young minds.

Mission Viral | Ashanti Regional Library
Today, Wednesday 19th August 2026, Appiah and Prince, Coordinators at the Ashanti Regional Library, continued engaging young learners from Adventist Senior High School, aged 13–18, through Mission Viral, an interactive puzzle game that helps learners understand how information spreads and how emotions, trust, and social pressure can influence what we believe and share.
We shared a simple story: a student received a sensational message, believed it immediately, and shared it with friends. Before long, the false story had reached many people. One simple question could have stopped it: “Have I verified this?”
The lesson was clear: Pause. Check. Read. Research. Consult. Then share.

We are grateful to Marry Ansah, Teacher, Business Department, Adventist Senior High School, for her incredible support and for nurturing such dedicated, curious, and enthusiastic learners.

Think critically. Question wisely. Verify before you amplify. Your next share can either spread truth or spread misinformation.

𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐥 | 𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲
On Monday, 17th August 2026, Appiah and Prince, Coordinators at the Ashanti Regional Library, engaged 53 young learners from Adventist Senior High School, aged 13–18, in Mission Viral, an interactive puzzle game developed by Chris Coward and his team at the Information School, University of Washington. The activity helped learners understand how information spreads and how emotions, trust and social pressure can influence what we believe and share.

The most powerful part was seeing learners question something we often do without thinking: How do we know what is true?
To deepen their understanding, we narrated a short story about a student who received false information, shared it without checking, and unknowingly helped misinformation spread. The lesson was simple:
Pause. Check the source. Read. Research. Consult. Then share.

In a world where information travels in seconds, critical thinking is our protection against misinformation.

Learning, studying, research, friendship, and fun happen every day at the Ashanti Regional Library.

As another week begins, it is never too late to open a book. Don’t rely only on what you hear on the radio, see on TV, or hear from others. Read for yourself, discover reliable information, and build the knowledge we need to develop ourselves and our country.

From adults conducting research to students engaging in group discussions and young learners discovering the joy of reading, the library remains a welcoming space where knowledge grows, minds are enriched, and opportunities begin.
