Vice President's Visit to Suame Post Office Fire Gutted Market

This afternoon, September 29th, 2025, as the Suame Municipal Chief Executive, I was honored to welcome Madam Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang to the Suame Post Office Market, which recently suffered a devastating fire. Her visit highlights the government's commitment to supporting our community during this difficult time.

During her visit, the Vice President took the opportunity to assess the damage and engage with the market women and men affected by the fire. I am grateful for her empathy and understanding, and I believe her presence will help rally support for the market's recovery efforts.

As the Suame Municipal Assembly , and with the support of the central government, we are committed to rebuilding and revitalizing the Suame Post Office Market. We will work tirelessly to ensure the market emerges stronger and more vibrant than ever, serving as a thriving hub for commerce and community life.

The Vice President's visit acts as a vote of confidence for the market community, recognizing their resilience and determination to rebuild. I am proud to lead a municipality dedicated to supporting its citizens and fostering economic growth and development.

On 9th September 2025, Hon Frank Owusu Ansah , the Suame Municipal Chief Executive Officer fulfilled his Promise to the Chief Of Nkwantwima , Otumfour Bosumuruhene by donating Fifty (50) bags of cements and Five (5) Modern chinese doors to support the ongoing construction of the chief's palace, as he promised last month during his formalization tour.

On 6th September 2025, the Suame Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Frank Owusu Ansah Hon. Frank Owusu Ansah -Suame MCE , Suame Municipal Assembly staffs, Adum Prison inmates, and residents of Suame participated in a cleanup exercise for the Kronum and Kwapra electoral areas. We were assigned to the Kwapra community, because there was a healthcare Center as legacy project built in 2020. The Chief Executive Officer has decided to commission the health center within this month to serve the community and the Suame Municipality. He sent a delegation, including inmates, to w**d the compound of the health center and ensure it is clean .

I believe the cleanup exercise is a commendable initiative that highlights the importance of community involvement in maintaining public spaces. Engaging
inmates in such projects not only benefits the community by creating a cleaner environment but also provides inmates with a sense of purpose and the opportunity to contribute positively.
The commissioning of the healthcare center is crucial for improving access to medical services in the Kwapra community, and it shows a commitment to enhancing the well-being of residents. Overall, these efforts can foster a stronger community spirit and support the health needs of the people in Suame Municipality.

After the fire outbreak in my municipality, Hon Frank Owusu Ansah held meetings with the stakeholders and negotiated how to reconstruct the markets, as it is my highest responsibility to ensure that affected traders can have their shops back. I have been worried and have shed tears in sympathy for my faithful residents who are in a situation where they have lost their wealth in stores, which supported their families and allowed them to enjoy their lives.
