Amansie West Crop Yields Fall Sharply as Galamsey Surges – Researcher

A new study has revealed that illegal mining (Galamsey) activities in Amansie-West are causing a drastic decline in crop yields. 🌱📉

According to the researcher (Mr SADICK ADAMD of CSIR-SOIL RESEARCH INSTITUTE), fertile farmlands are being degraded, water sources are being polluted, and food security in the district is at serious risk. Farmers are losing both their livelihoods and hope, as mining pits continue to replace once-productive fields.

👉 The findings call for urgent intervention from government, local authorities, and communities to protect agricultural lands and secure the future of food production in Ghana.

💡 What steps do you think stakeholders should take to balance mining and agriculture in Ghana?
