The team for the Farmer's Day Celebration concluded it's final day of inspection on the 4th day, 17th November, 2022.
The team went to inspect a 63 years old woman who is nominated for Female Farmer of the year. She has practiced mixed cropping type of farming with, cassava, cocoyam, plantain, pepper, cocoa, rubber and other food crops.
This woman is in Adum Banso, from there, the team went to BOPP to inspect a vegetable irrigation farm done by the company. About 3 acres of land is cultivated for this production i.e carrot, garden eggs, okro, lettuce, cabbage, kontommire and others. The company farm is an organically farm devoid of chemical fertilizers and weedicides usage.
The team also within BOPP visited a young man who is nominated for non-traditional farming. He is into the rearing of rabbits .
The whole exercise came to an end with much expectations and keenly contested nominations.
This year's Farmers Day Celebration comes off at Botodwina and the farmers would be brought together to be rewarded accordingly for their hardworking and contribtions to the sustainable development goal of eradicating extreme poverty by providing food for all.

The Farmers Day Inspection continued on the 3rd day in Mpohor district. The inspection team visited about three communities where various farms were inspected based upon the categories of nominations.
The team visited Trebuom , where a chief in the community had cultivated 10 acres of oil palm plantation was inspected, interrogations and extension services were offered to ensure how well he can yield a maximum outputs.
From Trebuom, the team visited Adum Dominase were a farmer with 4 acres of maize farm was inspected as well.
It was a great moment when the team visited one person who was nominated as Physically Challenged Farmer of the year.
The team moved to Amuzukrom to inspect a 27 years young man who has cultivated 4 acres of rice farm and also has a milling machine in the village for processing to add more values to the product in order to attract higher income as well.
He called for the Assembly support and any investor to come to their immediate aid to expand production.

Mpohor district is well noted for it's interest in Agriculture activities and for that prioritize farming activities and always leadership of the district do their utmost best to ensure farmers are given the necessary support in terms of extension services, seedlings, farming implements, fertilizers and many others.

In spite of this the Committee charged to inspect farmers nominated for various awards embark on the 2nd day of inspection at Mpohor, Ayiem and Sankakrom. At Mpohor, a man nominated for best plantain farmer farm was inspected who had about 8 acres of land cultivated.
Also a young man nominated for best youth farmer farm was inspected who had about 4 acres of garden eggs cultivated, a cocoa farm, plantain and cassava farm.
Also in Mpohor a man nominated for best oil palm farmer who has 15 acres of land cultivated with oil palm was inspected.
The team moved to Sentiaw, where a farmer who has 11acres of land cultivated with maize was also inspected.
The team moved to Ayiem town where a group of women who were involved in palm oil processing. It was an interesting to see these women enthusiasm in their work and called for massive support from the district leadership.
A widow in Ayiem who had cultivated a 6 acres of pepper farm was also inspected.
In all the team was full of amusement looking at how people were taking their farming activities seriously.

As usual, the Mpohor district is doing everything possible to make sure this year's Farmers Day Celebration becomes one of the best in the country. Mpohor district is an aggragarian community with plethora of cash crops like cocoa, oil palm, rubber, and many more as well as food crops like plantain, cassava, vegetables and cereals.
In all about 37 farmers were nominated for various forms of awards. A team of 4 officers and the district statistician today started their inspection on those selected for various awards. Areas covered in day 1 were, Botodwina, Mampong, Adansi, Edaa and Angu.
Nominated farmers were asked several questions like the last time of receiving an award, social impact of farming to the individual and community contribtions.
The inspection continues on 15th November, 2022.
