The Kassena Nankana Municipal Assembly, led by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Faustina Abulu, yesterday embarked on a revenue mobilisation exercise across selected parts of the municipality. The exercise was undertaken with the support of senior management staff and Honourable Assembly Members.
The team visited various business premises to encourage traders and business owners to fulfil their revenue obligations in support of local development. As part of the exercise, some shops that had failed to comply with their revenue obligations, were temporarily locked in accordance with the Assembly's revenue enforcement measures.
Hon. Faustina Abulu emphasized that internally generated funds remain vital for the provision of essential services, infrastructure development, and the overall growth of the municipality. She appealed to all businesses within the Municipality to honour their civic responsibilities by paying their rates and levies promptly to avoid sanctions. She indicated that the Assembly will embark on such operations in the coming weeks, fairly, transparently, and without fear or favour.
