*UPDATES ON CORONA VIRUS IN THE PUSIGA DISTRICT*
Yesterday, the 18th of March, 2020, the Pusiga District Assembly led by my good self, met with key stakeholders in the district to as a matter of urgency discuss among other things the deadly virus sweeping across the World. In attendance were the District security Agencies, traditional and religious leaders, transport operators and that of the health practitioners.
As per the directives by H. E. President of the Republic, the meeting mainly deliberated on the preventive measures of the _Corona virus_ in the district. Upon thorough deliberation and scrutiny, the following decisions were made for immediate implementation so as to safeguard the lives of the people in the district and Ghana as a whole.
1) formation of a communication team to be headed by the District Information Officer with the aim of disseminating and educating the public on the pandemic.
2) setting up of Rapid Response Team (RRT) to quickly deal with any suspected case caused by the virus.
3) formation of an Isolated Center to deal with any suspected case before referral to the Regional Hospital.
4) to procure and distribute basic health equipment like PPE and Infrared Thermometers to augment the few in the district. "Veronica Buckets" will also be in stall across the market squares, lorry stations, schools and at other health facilities to promote hand washing and personal hygiene.
5) the health directorate will assign personnel to all our border entry points to check all persons coming into the country.
6) the Border Security Agencies will return person(s) coming into the country from other countries that had recorded 200 or more cases of the Covid-19
7) the Assembly will provide hotlines for calls to address concerns or deal with all issues in connection with COVID-19.
In addition, I'm calling on the public, especially natives of the district to duly observe the preventive measures of the deadly virus as prescribed by health experts.
