Municipal Chief Executive of Sunyani Hon. Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson today toured the daily market of Sunyani to acquaint herself of the situation in the market so as to find solutions to them.
The MCE was accompanied by the Paramount Queen mother of Sunyani Nana Yaa Nyamaa II (immediate right hand side of MCE) and were received by the market Queen who is also the Dwantoa Hemaa of the Sunyani Traditional Council Nana Aboa Boahemaa.
The market Queen led the MCE and her team to every corner of the market.
She enumerated all the challenges facing them in the market to the MCE including lack of enough security, wash room, lights in the market, people selling by the roads leading to the market and congestion in the market among others.
MCE said the Assembly has addressed some of the concerns and steps are being taking to address the rest for the good of the traders. She advised those who sell by the roadside to desist from that as a Task force consisting of the military and the police has been put in place by her outfit and anybody found culpable would be dealt with according to law. The MCE also advised the traders to be careful with the usage of naked fire which she said could cause fire outbreak in the market as the place is already congested.
