Today I joined the Bethel Methodist Medical Center here in Takoradi to celebrate it's 10th Anniversary as a Special guest and also on behalf of the Western Regional Minister
Hon Hon Joseph Nelson .

I congratulated the management and staff for their decade of dedicated service to healthcare delivery and commended their contribution to the well-being of residents in the Metropolis.

Also reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote quality healthcare and improve the lives of residents.

The colourful event was chaired by Business Mogul and philanthropist, Dr Justice Amoh ( JustMoh)

Finally conveyed warm greetings from the Western Regional Minister and extended his best wishes to the Medical Centre.

DREDGING OF MAJOR STORM AND EARTH DRAINS ACROSS THE METROPOLIS – 2026

The Assembly has undertaken massive dredging and desilting works on major storm and earth drains across the metropolis as part of efforts to address the long-standing challenge of flooding.

Most of the works have been fully funded by United Developers Limited (UDL), a private sector partner of the Assembly based in Takoradi, in support of the Assembly’s efforts to improve drainage systems and reduce the risk of flooding in communities across the metropolis.

The major drainage systems worked on by UDL on behalf of the Assembly includes:

Kojokrom Night Market to Enoe Kuma Storm Drain
Airport Ridge Earth Drain
Airport Ridge Lagoon
Sekondi–Essaman Earth Drain to Ngyamoa Bakamu
London Bridge through Kansaworado to Ntankoful Junction Earth Drain

The Assembly appreciates United Developers Limited (UDL) for this important partnership and continued commitment towards supporting infrastructure development and flood mitigation in the metropolis.

The Assembly remains committed to working with private sector partners and other stakeholders to find sustainable solutions to flooding and improve the quality of life for residents.

SEKONDI TAKORADI MAYOR, LAWYER F.F FAIDOO POISED TO REDEVELOP MONKEY HILL INTO A MODERN ECO PARK

The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly, under the leadership of Mayor Lawyer FF Faidoo, is advancing plans to redevelop Monkey Hill into a modern eco park, with complementary facilities aimed at boosting tourism and creating a major recreational attraction for the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, the Western Region, and Ghana at large.

As part of efforts towards this vision, an investor, Trinity Park Limited( A Ghanaian owned Company) yesterday presented a proposed concept and vision for the redevelopment of Monkey Hill to the Assembly’s Sub-Committee on Planning and Development for consideration.

The proposed redevelopment is expected to incorporate modern recreational and tourism facilities while preserving the environmental and natural character of the area.

The proposal is, however, subject to further consideration and approval by the General Assembly, as well as consultations with relevant stakeholders and the necessary regulatory authorities.

Mayor Faidoo remains committed to exploring innovative partnerships and development initiatives that will transform the metropolis into a vibrant tourism, recreation and investment destination.

The redevelopment of Monkey Hill, when approved and implemented, is expected to contribute significantly to tourism development, job creation, local economic growth and the overall transformation of Sekondi-Takoradi.

As Part of activities marking World Photography Day, Ghana Union of Professional Photographers, Western Regional Chapter, paid a courtesy visit to my office.
The delegation officially introduced the association to me and the Assembly and discussed issues concerning the growth and development of professional photography in the region.

I assured the association of the Assembly’s support and expressed Our willingness to collaborate with them to promote the creative arts and photography industry in the metropolis.
