NYA-Bole District, in celebrating the National Community Service Week embarked on a sanitation Campaign dubbed "Clean Your Backyard". The office engaged the students of St. Kizito's Primary School on 5th December, 2023. They were admonished to desist from littering the environment, dumping refuse in gutters and to encourage others to do same. A radio discussion on the same topic was held at Yagbon radio.

The East Mamprusi Municipal Secretariat of the National Youth Authority in collaboration with the Ghana Road Safety Authority as part of our community service week organized a sensitization program for Motorist in Nalerigu. The purpose of the the program was to educate them on the importance of wearing Helmet, seat belt and also to educate passengers on their rights. We admonished them to speak when the drivers are misbehaving on the road. We also used the opportunity to assist students to cross the road to their various schools.

NYA YENDI MARKED WORLD AIDS DAY!

The Yendi Municipal Secretariat of the National Youth Authority on Friday, 1st December, 2023, joined the rest of the world to mark the World Aids Day, under the theme; 'Let Communities Lead'.

The celebration commenced with a Health Walk, which brought together various Youth groups, Schools, institutions and individuals within the Municipality. After about two and half hours walk on the principal streets of the Yendi Municipality, participants numbering over 200 were taken through *free* Hiv/Aids screening, with No positive case recorded.

Speaker upon speaker, participants especially the young people were admonished to adopt safety precautions to save their dreams, the future of the Municipality and for that matter our dear Nation Ghana.

Speakers at the event included; The Yendi Municipal Public Health Officer, Tamale Metro Director - NYA, Executive Director - Golden Inspires Foundation and CAMFED Coordinator - Yendi.

The East Mamprusi Municipal Secretariat of the National Youth Authority in collaboration with Songtaba as part of Breast cancer awareness month organised Breast Cancer Screening for five junior high schools in Gambaga in the East Mamprusi Municipality on Thursday 26/10/2023.

The Tolon District Secretariat of the National Youth Authority in collaboration with Advocacy Network organized this year's International Day of the Girl Child by bring about five different Junior High Schools together to celebrate the event at the Tolon District Assembly on Tuesday 17th October, 2023.

The theme for this year’s celebration at the District was " Ending the cycle of illiteracy: empowering the Girl Child". As part of the District Director of NYA welcome address Mr. Abdul-Muhsin Mohammed Saani stated that ending the cycle of illiteracy among girl child is a shared responsibility of our communities which goes beyond just parents or teachers.

However, he admonished the young girls to as well take their studies serious and not allowed any irresponsible act to truncate their dreams and vision of life. He added that, we can’t always prepare the future for the young girls, but we can always prepare the girl child for the future, because they are the representative of the solution to the numerous challenges that we face as a country.

A communique was prepared and read by a student from Tolon Naa Girls Model to the District Director of GES, pointing out the hindrances to the smooth accessibility of education by the girl child in the District. Which was later submitted to the District Directorate to be considered when designing programs or enacting policies to facilitate the accessibility of education by the Girl child.

The Regional Coordinator for the Girls advocacy Network (GAN) Miss Salifu Faiza, in her vote of thanks expressed our gratitude to the GES Directorate of Tolon and all stakeholders who graced the program to it success. And finally, she appealed to the duty bearers of the District to seriously consider the communique for it informed by an assessment conducted in the district.

In attendance were the District Director of GES, the District HR of GES, the District Coordinator for Girls Education, ADO of Ghana Fire Service Tolon, Yendi Municipal Director of NYA, the Executive Director of CSIF, the Northern Regional Coordinator of ACTIVISTA-Ghana, REPS from Marie Stopes, REPS from EMCEP and from REPS from GAN.

On Wednesday 11th October, 2023, the Bole District office of National Youth Authority organized a stakeholder engagement on Safeguarding the Youth to Mark International Day of the Girl Child.

The speakers at the event included Madam Ajara Wayo, Gender Officer -GES, Bole. In her presentation on Education and Teenage pregnancy admonished the young girls to stay committed to their dreams and adopt the ABC model (Abstinence, Being faithful to themselves, and forming good Character) to achieve their goals.

Meanwhile, Chief Sarfo Amantana- Tunawura in His speech called on youth development organizations to investigate the cause of the increasing rate of teenage pregnancy in the District. He noted that it is a worrying situation for the Chiefs and elders of the Bole traditional area.

The Director for Social Welfare -Bole, Alhaj Yakubu Abdul Rahman, spoke to participants on the falling standard of Ghanaian Moral values among the youth. He indicated that the falling standards can partly be attributed to the use of social media.
