On 2nd May 2026, we successfully organized a Capacity Building Training for BECE candidates at Gukpegu Tua. Due to the closeness of the BECE examinations and time limitations, this year’s session was specially dedicated to YMF Academy BECE candidates.
The training focused on preparing students mentally and academically for the upcoming examinations by equipping them with examination techniques, time management skills, confidence-building strategies, and motivation to excel.
We are proud of the enthusiasm and commitment shown by the students throughout the session. At YMF Academy, we remain committed to empowering young minds and supporting academic excellence within our community.
We wish all our BECE candidates the very best in their examinations. Go out there and make us proud! .

We are excited to share that YMF Academy has successfully rolled out a strategic intervention plan to improve the academic performance of our BECE candidates at Gukpegu Tua.
Following our initial assessment, which revealed significant challenges in Mathematics, English, and Science, we have taken bold and structured steps to address these gaps.
Our approach includes:
Continuous assessments every three weeks to track progress
Targeted remedial classes based on students’ ability levels
Intensive subject clinics focusing on core subjects
Peer learning and mentorship among students
Regular teacher review meetings to improve teaching strategies
Strict monitoring and evaluation to measure improvement
We are also introducing motivational sessions, exam technique training, and parental engagement, all aimed at building confidence and ensuring our students are fully prepared for the BECE.
At YMF Academy, we believe every child has the potential to succeed with the right support, guidance, and environment.
We remain committed to transforming education and raising a generation of confident, capable, and successful students.

YMF ACADEMY – 1ST MOCK RESULTS UPDATE
The results of our 1st Mock Examination (Core Subjects) are out. As expected, performance has been generally low, with only 5% of students performing well while 95% fell below expectations.
However, this is not a setback it is part of the process.
At YMF Academy, our first mock is intentionally designed as a trial assessment to evaluate students’ understanding across key subjects. It helps us identify gaps, strengths, and areas that need urgent attention before the final examinations.
What this means:
These results provide us with a clear direction to develop targeted strategies, improve teaching approaches, and intensify academic support for our students.
The Way Forward:
We are rolling out intensive revision sessions, guided learning, and performance-based interventions to ensure significant improvement in the next phase.

We paid a special visit to some of our amazing students from the YMF Academy 2022/2023 Batch to wish them success in their upcoming WASSCE examinations at Ghana Senior High School.

Together with the President and Vice President of YAAN, we encouraged them to stay focused, believe in themselves, and finish strong. It was a moment of motivation, inspiration, and unity.
We use this opportunity to wish all our students in different senior high schools in the region.
We are incredibly proud of how far they have come and confident in the greatness ahead. May excellence be their portion in this WASSCE and beyond!

On 30th July 2025, we climaxed our WASSCE Candidates Capacity Building Tour at Northern School of Business (Nobisco). Over the past weeks, we have had the privilege of reaching more than 2,000 final year students across several senior high schools with vital sessions under the theme:
“Beyond WASSCE: Preparing Final Year Students for Life, Learning, and Leadership.”

APPEAL FOR SUPPORT

One of our own, Abdul Kadiri Yamba Haruna, a dedicated student from Ticheli and a proud beneficiary of the YMF Academy, has just been offered admission to the University for Development Studies (UDS) to pursue a BSc in Veterinary Nursing for the 2025/2026 academic year.

This is a major milestone and a dream come true but he needs our help.
Despite securing this life-changing opportunity, Abdul Kadiri is financially constrained and unable to afford the required school fees, hostel accommodation, and related academic expenses. As per his admission letter, the total fees amount to GHS 2,629.89, which must be paid before August 8, 2025, to confirm his place at UDS Nyankpala Campus.

Project Update: Capacity Building Visit to Business Senior High School

School Visited: Business Senior High School (BISCO), Tamale
Theme: “Beyond WASSCE: Preparing Final-Year Students for Life, Learning, and Leadership”
Students Reached: Over 500 WASSCE Candidates

On 24th July 2025, the Young Mentees Foundation continued its capacity-building series for WASSCE candidates with an inspiring session at Business Senior High School (BISCO) in Tamale.
With over 500 final-year students in attendance, our team delivered practical, thought-provoking sessions designed to empower and prepare students for the future beyond WASSCE. The training featured the following topics:

🔹 Career Interest Mapping : Helping students align their passions with career goals.
🔹 Scholarship and Financial Aid Opportunities : Opening doors to higher education through funding support.
🔹 Life After WASSCE : Building confidence for post-exam life choices.
🔹 Entrepreneurship : Nurturing innovation and self-employment potential.
🔹 Digital Skills : Equipping students with tech tools for success in today’s world.

The energy and enthusiasm from the students of BISCO were truly remarkable. This engagement is part of our commitment to supporting youth in education, personal development, and leadership.
