MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY STRUCTURE
The Assembly has a total of forty three (43) Assembly members comprising thirty (30) elected and thirteen (13) appointed members, a Member of Parliament and a Municipal Chief Executive. The Municipality is made up of about 438 communities, one (1) Urban Council ie Tarkwa Urban Council and five (5) Zonal Councils namely; Nsuaem, Nsuta, Simpa, Dompim, and Benso Zonal Cou

Dompim Market Officially Launched in Ceremony Led by Municipal Officials

Dompim, Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality – The long-awaited Dompim Market was officially launched today in a ceremony attended by key municipal officials, traditional leaders, and community members.

The program was graced by Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Ebenezer Cobbinah, Coordinating Director Mr. Peter Kwasi Wilson, Municipal Finance Officer Mr. Kwamena Essifile, Municipal Environmental Director Mr. Alex Damptey, and Municipal Procurement Director Mr. Anokye, Nananou, alongside other government officials.

In his remarks, the Presiding Member and Assembly Member for the Dompim electoral area expressed gratitude to the Municipal Assembly for its support in making the project a reality. He noted that the new market is expected to boost local commerce and improve livelihoods for traders and residents in the area.

Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Ebenezer Cobbinah reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to infrastructure projects that drive economic growth and create opportunities at the grassroots level. He also announced plans to construct a modern washroom facility at the market premises to improve hygiene and convenience for traders and customers.

The launch marks a significant step in the Municipality’s efforts to modernize market facilities and support small-scale businesses.

Tufohene of Dompim, Nana Owua Okuapong XII, commended the Municipal Assembly and the Member of Parliament for their efforts. He revealed that the traditional council has allocated a large tract of land for further development and expressed hope that the Assembly would extend similar modern market projects to the area.

The Dompim Market is now open for traders and the public.

Dompim Market Set for Official Commissioning on 26th May 2026

The newly constructed Dompim Market will be officially commissioned on Tuesday, 26th May 2026 at 10:00 AM, in a ceremony expected to bring together local leaders, traders, and residents.

The project, spearheaded by Hon. Issah Salufu Taylor, MP, aims to give traders in Dompim a modern, organized space to conduct business. The completed facility features covered stalls, improved roofing, and paved surroundings designed to enhance hygiene and improve trading conditions.

Present at the commissioning will be Hon. Ebenezer Cobbinah, Municipal Chief Executive of Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly, and Hon. Ebenezer Kwabena Yeboah, Presiding Member and Assemblyman for Dompim.

Officials say the market is a key step toward boosting local commerce and improving livelihoods in the area. It is expected to reduce congestion, provide shelter for traders, and create a safer, more convenient environment for both buyers and sellers.

Residents and traders in Dompim have been invited to attend the ceremony and witness the official opening of the facility.

The Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly led by Hon. Ebenezer Cobbinah has taken a major step toward improving access to safe drinking water in the municipality.

MCE, joined experts from the Water Resources Commission Ghana and the Minerals Commission Ghana on a collaborative visit to assess the Ghana Water Supply base at Bonsa.

In partnership with Hon. Issah Salifu Taylor, MP, the Assembly is also rolling out strategic plans to rehabilitate River Bonsa and restore its ecosystem, with the aim of boosting water supply for Tarkwa Nsuaem.
