Ghana Manganese Company Limited (GMC) is contributing to community development by reshaping the inner roads at Brofoyedur Anomakokrom, one of the communities captured under the MP’s Inner Roads Project in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality.

The Backstage Convo team went to the community today to assess the progress of the work. We also engaged the machine operator and other workers on the ground to learn more about the ongoing exercise and its impact on residents.
A step towards improving accessibility and making our communities more connected. 🛣️👏

Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly Sub-Committee on Agriculture Inspects 1D1F Oil Processing Factory at Bonsa

The Chairman of the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly Sub-Committee on Agriculture, Hon. Maxwell Kingdoh, who is also the Assembly Member for Esuaso Electoral Area, on Thursday, 13th August, 2026, led members of the committee on an inspection tour of the One District One Factory (1D1F) oil palm processing plant at Bonsa in the Municipality.

Members of the delegation included the Municipal Director of Agriculture, Mr. Essien, other government appointees, and some Assembly Members.

The purpose of the visit was to inspect the operations of the factory and to assess challenges affecting its performance.

In his remarks, the Managing Director of the 1D1F, Mr. Asward Amartey, stated that the factory has been facing challenges since operations began. These include machinery deficits and inadequate supply of raw materials, specifically palm nuts, for processing.

Mr. Amartey appealed to the Municipal Assembly to establish a palm plantation that can serve as a reliable source of raw materials to feed the factory. He noted that this would help boost production and create more employment opportunities for residents of the Municipality.

Responding, Hon. Maxwell Kingdoh said the Assembly has plans to reclaim some of the land degraded by illegal mining activities and use it for palm cultivation to supply the factory with raw materials.
