ARTS HOLDS GRADUATION FOR 744 RECRUITS
The Army Recruits Training School (ARTS) has held a Pass-In-Review parade for 744 recruits of Basic Infantry Training Course (BITC) 1/2021 at Shai Hills on Friday, 28 January 2022.
The Reviewing Officer and Director General of Defence Industries Department, Brigadier General William Agyapong in a speech applauded the recruits’ hard work and dedication to a new way of life which he said ties together the future of the long-held army traditions and customs. He admonished that the military profession is a calling and not an avenue for persons merely seeking for job employments.
Brig Gen Agyapong advised the recruits that the training at ARTS was the barest of training to enable them take off smoothly as soldiers. He, thereafter, entreated them to make personal efforts to add up to the knowledge the School had given to them.
Within the six-month period of training, the newly passed-out soldiers were taken through basic, yet comprehensive military training that encompassed Physical Training, Tactics, Weapon Training, Drill, Military Law, Liberal Education, among others. This was aimed at transforming them into disciplined, physically fit, knowledgeable and highly motivated soldiers with a high sense of urgency and teamwork.
Four awards were presented. The Parade Commander, Recruit Lamptey Emmanuel was adjudged the Overall Best Recruit, Best in Academics and Best Female Recruit was awarded to Recruit Gyan Florence Mensah while Recruit Essah Bonaventure took Best in Drill
