WHAT IS YEN
Youth Empowerment Network (YEN) is a social enterprise that tackles social and economic challenges, creating jobs while prioritizing impact over profit. In context of high unemployment and deep social problems in our country, YEN seeks to contribute to job creation and economic development while addressing social and economic issues. Our motivation stem from the powerful saying that “t
he only person who can limit your potential for success is YOU”. As a youth you have inside of you great potentials, talents and skills which YEN will tap, train and harness through the impact of professional entrepreneurship knowledge and skills. YEN cut across all the regions in Ghana and seeks to incorporate individuals, institutions and organizations in all our operations for maximum support. In Ghana, the unemployment rate measures the number of people actively looking for a job as a percentage of the labour force. Unemployment rate in Ghana decreased to 5.20 percent in 2013 from 5.96 percent in 2010. Unemployment Rate in Ghana averaged 8.82 percent from 2001 until 2013, reaching an all time high of 12.90 percent in 2005 and a record low of 5.20 percent in 2013. Currently unemployment is averaging around 5.2 percent in Ghana. Large percentage of these is the youth which is a negative indicator to our economy. This hardship facing the youth leads to deep social problems, YEN believes that a network of over thousand human resources can have impact on its members to help save the menace of unemployment in Ghana. This will be done through our well planned periodic training, summit and seminars where we can delve more into entrepreneurship and acquisition of skills needed for the job market. During such events we shall help participants identify their skills, talents and potentials. We will teach and guide members how to generate business ideas and building business plans to suit it. The needed skills for startups will be impacted, polished and improved in order to help them to establish and maintain strong businesses. Our team thrives on a simple saying that we must positively do what we can to live. We will also create links to companies (stakeholders) for easy employment. HOW TO RAISE FUNDS FOR OUR PROJECTS

Our Goals(what we do) are:
1. Creating the platform to help the youth to establish themselves as successful individuals through the impact of knowledge and skills.
2. To expose the youth to employment opportunities by preparing them for the job market.
3. Raising youthful entrepreneurs with requisite skills and ideas to salvage unemployment menace.
4. Creating the awareness of talents and adding value to it for identified markets of interest.
5. Supporting the youth for start up's expansion and building business prospects.

T- Training effectively in all relevant areas for viable growth both for entrepreneurs or job markets. HOW YOUTH EMPOWERMENT NETWORK WORKS
YEN will operate in five main ways
1. Through the full support of institutions and organizations who train and impact knowledge in specified academic disciplines and vocations towards skilled careers. Universities, Colleges, Training centers, Vocational and Entrepreneurship institutions and others. YEN will formally lobby and bring such entities onboard to solely offer training in the form of scholarships to interested participants and its members. This I believe will go a long way to prepare the youth for the job market and also to help them to start their own businesses.
2. Yen will also work effortlessly to collate database of members across the country who are unemployed and those who need any form of training or education. This will be used towards our monthly scheduled events for training and impact of Knowledge in specified disciplines. This means YEN will internally tap the human resources to harness its members for development.
3. YEN will network with a pool of employers both internally and externally who will be given access to the pool of individuals seeking employment and training. We will ensure such participants are given a brief training and suitable individuals will be selected adequately by the employers based on agreed performance.
4. YEN will positively focus on social impact by embarking on voluntary work in the field of education ,training and social work across the country by bringing onboard NGO’s and other interested social enterprise as sponsors for such projects in selected areas of our country.
5. YEN will work along the media through social networking sites and network of individuals to bring onboard various powerful professionals who will train members on chosen area of discipline leading to career building. This will be our special SEMINARS and TRAINING FORUMS. Join us to champion this course because we need you and you need us.
