BEHIND the trial Drama of the Guinea Bissau Pablo Jabbie Case and the Drug Law Enforcement Agency DLEAG?
BRIEF BACKGROUND!
Currently, there is a vast dramatic report coming from the media on the ongoing trial of the Guinea Bissau Nationals Paulo Djabi, Nadine Pereira, Mamadu Neto Djabi, and Secuna Jabi, accused of illegal drug offences and money laundering. The court proceeding at the Magistrate granted the accused bail, but the DLEAG refused to comply with the court order to release them.
The court proceedings started at the Bundung Magistrate Court with the trial Magistrate since the accused were not granted bail. The trial was transferred to the Kanifing Magistrate Court on the grounds of jurisdiction, and Magistrate Jabang took the case and granted bail to the accused. The narcotic officers are yet to comply with the court orders.
Magistrate Jabang demanded both the Director General and the Deputy Director General to appear before him to explain why they should not be charged for contempt of court. Magistrate Jabang reiterated his ruling to stand for the DLEAG to release the accused as ordered.
