FINAL DAY – NPP STUDENTS’ WING CIVIC RESPONSIBILITY NATIONWIDE TOUR 1.0
We closed the final day of our nationwide tour on a meaningful note at Nungu Kebbeh NBR, where the team held a one-hour Civic Education session with students. It was a simple but impactful engagement. The discussion focused on what it means to be an active citizen, why voter participation matters, and how young people can contribute to shaping the country’s future. The students were attentive, asked thoughtful questions, and showed genuine interest in the conversation.
From there, the team moved to the Banjul–Barra Ferry terminal. What followed was not planned, but it spoke volumes. A number of young people approached the team to express their appreciation and admiration for the work done across the regions. Their words were sincere and encouraging, and for many of us, it was a moment that quietly affirmed the value of the entire journey.
As we bring the NPP Students’ Wing Civic Responsibility Nationwide Tour 1.0 to a close, we do so with a deep sense of gratitude and reflection. Over the course of this tour, we met communities from different parts of the country, engaged with young people, and shared conversations that matter. In all the places we visited, people consistently expressed their support for President Adama Barrow and his government, pointing to the progress being made in different sectors.
We sincerely thank the NPP National Executive Council for their leadership and support throughout this initiative. Our appreciation also goes to the Regional Structures for their coordination on the ground, and to the many communities that welcomed and engaged with us openly.
To the youths, women, and students who participated in these conversations, we are grateful for your time, your voices, and your willingness to be part of this process. And to every member of the Students’ Wing who contributed in one way or another, your effort and commitment made this tour possible.
This may be the end of the tour, but it is not the end of the work. The conversations continue, and so does the responsibility we all share in building a more aware and active citizenry.
