We’re equipping public officials with the skills to make evidence-based and transparent decisions for the future!

Together with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights ( ) and the Office of National Security (ONS), has launched nationwide community outreach activities to strengthen public awareness, inclusive participation, and trust between communities and security institutions across .

The outreach sessions are creating space for dialogue on the Security Sector Reform (SSR) Strategy, the National Security Council Act 2025, accountability, human rights, complaint mechanisms, and the role of citizens in building a people-centred security sector.

Bringing together women, youth, persons with disabilities, traditional and religious leaders, civil society organizations, local authorities, and security actors, the engagements provide communities with an opportunity to share concerns, ask questions, and contribute recommendations to the reform process.

Security Sector Reform is ultimately about people, strengthening institutions that are professional, accountable, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of the communities they serve.

The EU–UNDP GREAT Project convened its 16th Technical Committee Meeting, bringing partners together to take stock of progress and strengthen coordination. The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to advancing inclusive governance and enhancing public service delivery in The Gambia.

UNDP Resident Representative Mandisa Mashologu, together with Deputy Resident Representative Evelyn Edroma and the UNDP team, undertook a monitoring visit with the Judiciary of The Gambia to the Mile 7 High Court Complex to review progress on the ongoing rehabilitation and expansion works.

During the visit, Ms. Mandisa Mashologu noted the steady pace of construction and emphasised the importance of ensuring the quality of the works, while highlighting the strong coordination among partners in supporting justice sector infrastructure in The Gambia.

She commended the collaborative efforts and emphasised the importance of maintaining momentum to ensure timely completion of the new Special Criminal Division of the High Court facility, a key step in strengthening the rule of law and access to justice.

The Judiciary’s Estate Manager thanked UNDP and the EU for the project, noting that it supports the Judiciary’s ⚖️ broader efforts to decentralize services.
