Together with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights ( ) and the Office of National Security (ONS), has launched nationwide community outreach activities to strengthen public awareness, inclusive participation, and trust between communities and security institutions across .
The outreach sessions are creating space for dialogue on the Security Sector Reform (SSR) Strategy, the National Security Council Act 2025, accountability, human rights, complaint mechanisms, and the role of citizens in building a people-centred security sector.
Bringing together women, youth, persons with disabilities, traditional and religious leaders, civil society organizations, local authorities, and security actors, the engagements provide communities with an opportunity to share concerns, ask questions, and contribute recommendations to the reform process.
Security Sector Reform is ultimately about people, strengthening institutions that are professional, accountable, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of the communities they serve.
