SRLS Secretariat and Members of the Governing Board Continue Policy Retreat

The Students Revolving Loan Scheme SRLS- The Gambia Secretariat and members of its Governing Board continued the policy retreat dedicated to the final review and validation of the institutional frameworks and operational documents that will guide the implementation of the Scheme.

Building on the progress made during the first day, discussions on the second day centred on further refining key operational documents and governance instruments with participants reviewing recommendations, addressing outstanding issues and ensuring consistency across the institutional framework.

Beyond the technical sessions, the retreat has also provided a space for the Governing Board and Secretariat to build stronger team cohesion and reinforce a culture of collective responsibility.

The retreat continues with the review of the remaining frameworks and operational documents that will support the effective delivery of The Gambia’s first National Student Loan Scheme.

SRLS Secretariat and Governing Board Commence Policy Retreat

The Students Revolving Loan Scheme SRLS- The Gambia Secretariat and members of the Governing Board have commenced a working retreat to undertake the final validation of thirteen key institutional frameworks, policies and operational instruments ahead of implementation.

The first day of the retreat focused on the final review of the following:

- SRLS Strategic Plan (2026–2030)
- SRLS Loans Policy
- Finance and Administration Manual

The discussions provided an opportunity for members of the Governing Board and Secretariat to examine the documents in detail, ensuring they reflect the institutional priorities and operational requirements of the .

The retreat will continue over the coming days with the review and validation of the remaining policy and operational documents that will guide the implementation and administration of The Gambia’s first National Student Loan Scheme.

SRLS Pays a Courtesy Visit to the National Audit Office

The Students Revolving Loan Scheme SRLS- The Gambia yesterday paid a courtesy visit to The Gambia National Audit Office -NAO, where the delegation was received by the Auditor General, Mr. Cherno Amadou Sowe.

The engagement provided an opportunity to present the mandate of , outline the progress made and discuss the institutional systems being developed to support its implementation. Discussions highlighted the importance of effective internal controls and sound financial management.

The Auditor General welcomed the engagement and commended the emphasis being placed on governance and the development of strong institutional frameworks and systems from the outset.

SRLS Engages The Gambia Immigration Department

The Students Revolving Loan Scheme SRLS- The Gambia paid a courtesy visit to The Gambia Immigration Department as part of its ongoing engagement with key stakeholders.

The meeting provided an opportunity to present the mandate of the Scheme, share progress towards its implementation, and discuss areas of collaboration. Discussions also highlighted the importance of inter-agency cooperation in supporting the effective implementation of The Gambia’s first National Student Loan Scheme.

Meet Victoria Bojang, Administrative Assistant at the Students Revolving Loan Scheme SRLS- The Gambia.

Ms. Bojang is an administrative professional with over ten years of experience in public administration, office management, and records management. Throughout her career, she has built extensive experience supporting institutional operations and delivering efficient public service across government institutions. At SRLS, she supports the day-to-day administrative operations of the Scheme, helping to ensure efficient coordination.

Prior to joining the Scheme, Ms. Bojang served as an Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Higher Education,Research Science and Technology (MoHERST) where she oversaw administrative functions and office operations.

Ms. Bojang holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration (MPA) at The University of The Gambia.

At , her work helps ensure the smooth running of the institution's administrative functions, supporting the systems and operations that underpin the delivery of The Gambia's first National Student Loan Scheme.

The Students Revolving Loan Scheme SRLS- The Gambia paid a courtesy visit to Global Properties (Gambia) Limited to introduce the Scheme and discuss areas of collaboration.

The delegation was received by the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Saul Frazer, who welcomed the engagement and commended the establishment of The Gambia's first National Student Loan Scheme. The discussions focused on opportunities for partnership and the role of cross-sector collaboration in supporting and expanding access to Higher and Tertiary Education through sustainable .

SRLS participates in the Gaye Njorro Skills Academy Career Day

The Students Revolving Loan Scheme SRLS- The Gambia was pleased to participate in the Gaye Njorro Skills Academy Career Day, where we engaged with students through our information desk, answered questions about the Scheme, and hosted interactive quizzes and games.

It was encouraging to see so many students take an interest in learning more about Higher and Tertiary while putting their knowledge to the test for a chance to win branded prizes. Congratulations to all the winners of our interactive quiz games.

We also extend our congratulations to Gaye Njorro Skills Academy for successfully hosting a Career Day that created an important platform for students to explore educational and career opportunities and plan for the future.

SRLS Pays Courtesy Visit to the National Social Protection Agency

The Students Revolving Loan Scheme SRLS- The Gambia, led by the Executive Director, Dr. Samba Bah, paid a courtesy visit to the National Social Protection Agency - The Gambia (NSPA) to introduce the Scheme and discuss areas of mutual collaboration.

The Executive Director presented an overview of SRLS, its mandate, and the progress made in establishing The Gambia’s first National Student Loan Scheme. Discussions focused on opportunities for collaboration in advancing equitable access to Higher and Tertiary Education through stronger institutional coordination.

The NSPA, which leads the coordination of social protection programmes in The Gambia, welcomed the engagement and highlighted the importance of complementarity between social protection and education financing in expanding opportunities for vulnerable populations.

Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to working together in support of inclusive and sustainable national development.
