Listen (in Greek) to the podcast created as part of Creative Greece, the podcast series of the Γραφείο Δημιουργική Ευρώπη MEDIA - Creative Europe MEDIA Desk Greece, and discover the secrets, the magic, and the challenges of the professions of the Location Manager and the Location Scouter—the professionals responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing locations for film and audiovisual productions. To answer all our questions and introduce us to this fascinating yet still relatively little-known field, the episode features Dimitris Chalkiadakis, President of the Location & Unit Department Workers' Association, who brings nearly 30 years of experience working on landmark Greek and international productions, as well as Giota Skouvara, who left the production field ten years ago to devote herself exclusively to location scouting.

The Hellenic Film Commission of EKKOMED has played a pivotal role in promoting and strengthening the profession of the Location Manager in Greece. Through targeted initiatives it has already implemented and continues to develop, it has made a significant contribution to the professional recognition and advancement of the sector. Notably, it has organized specialized training programs, established the Location Manager Award for Greek productions while actively supporting productions through the LOCATE (with)in GREECE – Location Scouting Support Program. These initiatives reinforce the domestic audiovisual ecosystem and contribute to establishing Greece as an internationally recognized filming destination.
