Old Perithia is recommended as one of the best places to visit on Corfu by leading international travel magazines and guidebooks. eaway from pirate attacks, which blighted villages and towns nearer the coast. It nestles below Mount Pantokrator, the highest mountain on Corfu at 908m. Records go back to c. 1357 although the village may have existed earlier. It's of Venetian architectural importance with 130 houses and surrounded by 8 churches. Since which time it has grown from 10-15% restored or in process to over 35%+ and that progress continues to this day. The village remains under archaeological protection and is 99% as it would have been c. 1650, albeit nature has flourished and created a living 'Chelsea Flower Show'. Stroll through the cobbled streets, admire the characteristic churches, explore the surrounding countryside on long or short walks and breathe in the super fresh & healthy air, eat at the tavernas - buy the local honey.

Since April 2026 Old Perithia has so far, as of today had 97,000 visits on Google, and an overall 3000+ 4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/⭐️ star reviews since 2011.
