Greece entered first in the parade of nations, an honorary position reflecting its historic status as the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games and the Olympic tradition, following the custom of giving the Greek delegation a place of distinction at major international multi-sport events.

Maria Prevolaraki and Apostolos Siskos proudly carried the Greek flag during the Opening Ceremony of the Mediterranean Games in Taranto, leading Team Hellas into the stadium. Behind them were Apostolos Christou and the rest of the Greek delegation, while an impressive stage installation inspired by ancient Greek sculpture dominated the background.

🇬🇷🏅 ΣΑΝ ΣΗΜΕΡΑ: Το "αόρατο" χρυσό της Αθήνας!

🏟️16 Αυγούστου 2004. Οι Ολυμπιακοί Αγώνες της Αθήνας έχουν μόλις ξεκινήσει και η χώρα μας ψάχνει το πρώτο της μετάλλιο για να ξεκινήσει δυνατά την διοργάνωση.

☝️Και τότε, δύο "ιπτάμενοι" Έλληνες κάνουν το θαύμα. Ο Νίκος Συρανίδης και ο Θωμάς Μπίμης ανεβαίνουν στο πιο ψηλό σκαλί του βάθρου στις συγχρονισμένες καταδύσεις από βατήρα 3 μέτρων!

🤔Πόσοι, όμως, θυμούνται πραγματικά εκείνη τη στιγμή;

👉Το απίστευτο είναι ότι, παρά την τεράστια επιτυχία, "σχεδόν" κανείς σήμερα δεν γνωρίζει ή δεν θυμάται ότι η Ελλάδα πήρε τότε ΧΡΥΣΟ μετάλλιο στο συγκεκριμένο άθλημα!

👏Ήταν μια από τις πιο συγκλονιστικές και αναπάντεχες στιγμές του ελληνικού αθλητισμού που αξίζει να τη θυμόμαστε και να την τιμάμε.

🤽‍♀️Εντυπωσιακή εμφάνιση από την Εθνική ομάδα Νεανίδων Κ18, η οποία ξεπέρασε και το εμπόδιο της Ουγγαρίας, αφού επιβλήθηκε με 14-10 στο πλαίσιο του Παγκοσμίου πρωταθλήματος της κατηγορίας, που διεξάγεται στο Πουέρτο ντε λα Κρουζ της Τενερίφης στην Ισπανία.
