From the UK to a full day at Octopus

Ava, Sarah & Jo discovered us from the UK through social media — seeing the beauty of Skiathos, the turquoise waters of Achladies Beach and the relaxed atmosphere of Octopus online.

And then they decided to come and experience it for themselves.

They spent the whole day with us, enjoying the beach, swimming in the Aegean, relaxing under the umbrellas and taking in that unmistakable Skiathos feeling.

From a long, leisurely lunch overlooking the sea to late-afternoon drinks as the day slowly turned golden, it was one of those perfect island days where there was simply no reason to rush.

Good food, cold drinks, sunshine, beautiful views and great company — everything that makes a summer day at Octopus special.

What started with discovering us on social media turned into a whole day by the sea. Sometimes, the best recommendations are the ones that lead you somewhere you never want to leave.

Good food, beautiful w**e, cocktails, laughter and the company of wonderful people, all enjoyed beside the sparkling Aegean Sea. With the moon shining above and the warm glow of the table creating the perfect atmosphere, this was a birthday to remember.

Sandy may be a small black miniature poodle, but she has become a very big part of the Octopus Skiathos story.

She has her own growing fan club, with families and visitors regularly stopping to take photos with her. One moment she is quietly enjoying her day, and the next she is posing for another holiday picture.

With her elegant black coat, charming personality and unmistakable presence, Sandy has become a little celebrity in her own right and an unexpected star of social media.

For many guests, a visit to Octopus isn't complete without meeting Sandy and capturing that special photo to take home as a memory of Skiathos.

Alexander Karvounis, confident and full of character, during the summer of 1974 at Achladies Beach, standing proudly beside the supply truck that helped keep the taverna running.

This was the era when Achladies Taverna was becoming an established part of Skiathos life, carrying forward the Karvounis family’s connection with the bay and its growing number of visitors.

The truck, the old taverna, the summer light and Alexander’s unmistakable confidence tell a story of another Skiathos — simpler, quieter and built on hard work, family and genuine island hospitality.

For an incredible 22 years, they have returned to the island, creating memories, friendships and moments that keep bringing them back. Skiathos is their happy place, a place that feels familiar, warm and truly special.

Some people come to Octopus for the food, the sea and the atmosphere. Others become part of the story.

Martin and Jo are more than guests — they are true friends. Their visits to Octopus are always filled with genuine smiles, great conversations, good w**e and the kind of moments that make hospitality truly meaningful.

For us, friendship is one of the greatest rewards of what we do. Seeing familiar faces return to Achladies, sharing another table, another glass and another beautiful Skiathos evening — that is what makes Octopus special.
