Mother forced to deport, leave 2 disabled sons, teen daughter ;
Magdalena Jiménez Juan, a Guatemalan national who lived in Indiantown, Florida for over two decades, has been deported back to her native Guatemala.
Following the denial of her stay of removal by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), she was forced to board a one-way flight from Fort Lauderdale, separating her from her family.Jiménez Juan has no criminal history and had previously been granted humanitarian permissions due to severe medical hardships within her family.
Her removal forces her to leave behind her 15-year-old daughter and two sons, ages 18 and 31, who suffer from Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease—a rare genetic neurological disorder that impairs their mobility and requires full-time specialized care. With her husband also currently held in immigration detention awaiting removal to Guatemala, local community groups are raising urgent support for the children.
