Caras Alegres es una ONG que trabaja con niños, niñas y familias de Las Rosas, barrio de Quetzaltenango (Xela), Guatemala. Education is the key in this process.

The main objective of Caras Alegres is:

To promote and improve the general welfare and the social position of women, children and families on the poverty line and therefore are or were in difficult living situations. The road to independence is long and leads along many roads. These roads will be different for each participant, because every person is unique. Caras Alegres looks, listens and communicates with its members and based on their needs we built for the future. We want to reach our goal by:
- Maintaining small-scale projects with educational aspects;
- Having the active (Guatemalan) team in place, in balance with (paid) experts from all over the world;
- Making use of local products and resources;
- Using norms and values of the Guatemalan culture and traditional aspects;
- Maintain partnerships with educational and social organizations in Guatemala and abroad.

Fomentar el deporte en los niños es importante porque fortalece su salud física, mental y social desde pequeños. También les ayuda a crear hábitos de vida saludables que pueden mantenerse en la adolescencia y la adultez. Gracias a Cancha Elite Sport y al profesor Jorge Quezada por la facilitación de la actividad: "El Deporte como Estilo de Vida Saludable" esto a través del proyecto Fortaleciendo Juntos de Caras Alegres. Gracias también StartUp4kids por el apoyo.

Las inteligencias múltiples son una forma de entender la inteligencia en los niños que reconoce que no hay una sola “capacidad general”, sino varios tipos de talentos que pueden desarrollarse.
Es importante que los niños entiendan cuál es su inteligencia porque esto les ayuda a desarrollar seguridad, autoconocimiento y motivación para aprender desde sus fortalezas, en lugar de sentirse limitados por un concepto único de “ser inteligente”
Las Psicólogas de Caras Alegres realizaron esta bonita y productiva actividad a través de un Rally en donde los pequeños aprendieron acerca de
Sumamos actividades para fortalecer Inteligencia Emocional y conocimiento general en los niños y niñas de Caras Alegres y así construir un mejor futuro para ellos y sus familias.

Un taller de emprendimiento enfocado en la elaboración de dulces típicos de Guatemala es una estrategia efectiva para impulsar la economía familiar, rescatar tradiciones culinarias y empoderar a las mujeres de la comunidad.
Los talleres ayudan a las mujeres de la comunidad a desarrollar confianza en sí mismas, habilidades comunicativas y visión estratégica, competencias transversales fundamentales para emprender.
A través del proyecto “FORTALECIENDO JUNTOS” apoyado por StartUp4kids Foundation seguimos apoyando y fortaleciendo las capacidades de las mujeres y así ofrecer herramientas de conocimiento que seguramente serán de utilidad en su vida diaria y en su futuro.
