Don’t pack a pest… please listen to a great message from the GuamGuy on managing your waste during your disaster cleanup.

1) Again, I have not heard of any cases of Dengue or Zika or anything from mosquitos at the moment. But just in case, let’s control mosquitos to prevent whatever they might be carrying if anything. 2) Little Fire Ants are difficult to see but very easy to feel when you get bit. If you’re working outside and start feeling the burn, you might have LFA. They’re visible to the human eye but difficult to see unless you’re really trying. Take out your phone, get the best picture you can, and send it to me or .biosec for confirmation. You’ll need to find some and then zoom in a lot for a good picture. You can also buy the ant killer from Home Depot. The brand is Amdro but make sure it says it works on Fire Ants (and not just regular ants). 3) Although Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle (CRB) is currently island-wide, we predict there will be a population boom due to the increase of greenwaste piles which are literal breeding sites for CRB to breed. You can get teller netting from Guam Home Center to cover your piles and trap breeding adults and their offspring.
