Building capability through partnership.

Auxiliarists on Guam are strengthening the Coast Guard Auxiliary Culinary Assistance (AUXCA) program through hands-on training alongside Active Duty Coast Guard personnel. Here, an Auxiliarist gains valuable galley experience aboard USCGC Myrtle Hazard during the cutter’s port visit to Guam. Working side by side, Active Duty and Auxiliary members are enhancing readiness, expanding skills, and supporting the Coast Guard mission.

Drowning is preventable. Today, we remind everyone that simple safety steps can save lives.

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary works year-round to promote water safety through boating education, vessel safety checks, and community outreach.

Before you hit the water:
✅ Wear your life jacket
✅ Watch children around water
✅ Never boat under the influence
✅ Know your emergency plan

Make safety a habit, because every life matters.

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary celebrates 87 years of continuous service to the U.S. Coast Guard. As a force multiplier, the Auxiliary works alongside active-duty and reserve personnel, performing a wide range of missions and supporting units throughout the nation. Nearly 30,000 uniformed civilian volunteers generously contribute their time, talents, and expertise in support of the Coast Guard’s mission.

For 87 years, Auxiliarists have advanced maritime safety and security through boating safety programs, public education, vessel safety checks, communications, chaplaincy, culinary assistance, marine environmental protection, search and rescue, emergency response, and many other vital missions.
