MISSION STATEMENT | The Mission of the Guyana Police Force and its Auxiliaries is to serve all citizens and communities of Guyana in a professional, pro-active and accountable manner. To achieve this we will work in partnership with communities, public agencies and private bodies to enhance and support an environment where all people are preventing crime and buildin

7. The due enforcement of all laws and regulationswith which it is directly charged and shall perform such military duties within Guyanaas maybe required of it by or under the authority of the Minister. AIM | Our Services will be aimed at:
1. Respecting and recognising human rights;
2. Working with all communities to develop policing services necessary and appropriate to those communities;
3. Building partnerships with all sectors of Guyana Society, including Commercial
and Voluntary Groups;
4. Working to develop Community Policing Programmes in conjunction with
Community Policing Groups;
5. Improving working relationships with other agencies within the Justice Sector and
other Government Departments to improve inter-agency achievements;
6. Establishing enhanced working relationships with regional law enforcement
agencies; and
7. Building a Police Force that through the correct training, access to the right
equipment and technologies and adherence to standards will better serve the

2. Development of our staff with the right skills to undertake their role effectively in
the context of modern policing;

Kites Distribution Exercise Held

On Saturday April 01, 2023 Regional commander #7 Dion Moore and his admin team conducted a massive kite distribution at various locations in Region #7.

A total of 450 Kites were distributed to children around Bartica, Agatash, Dogg Point, Byderabo, Tassarene Village, Issano, and Itaballi

The children were all excited and had bright smiles on their faces as they received their kites. Gratitude were expressed to the police team for the generous gesture.

Commander Moore urged the children to fly their kites in open spaces and away from electrical wires and wished them a Happy Easter!

The Easter celebration is a joyous festival that is observed throughout the world. It observes the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Muster held

In keeping with the standing order of the Guyana Police Force a Muster was held at the Bartica Police Station on Saturday 1st April 2023 between 08:30hrs and 09:30hrs.

Ranks along with CPG members fully dressed in their uniforms assembled in front of the Bartica Police Station and were inspected by Senior Superintendent Dion Moore Commander Region #7.

Commander Moore expressed gratitude to the ranks and compliment them for their turnout. The ranks were further encouraged to keep up the good work, to be polite to members of the public, and adopt an attitude of professionalism at all times.

He concluded by urging the ranks to be prepared for Easter duties, more so the regatta season in the region.

MEN ON A MISSION
--- Regional Police Division #7

On Sunday March 12, 2023 The Men on A Mission (MOM) group treated women to scrumptious lunch at the Bartica’s Community Center Ground and at Kurupung.

This initiative is a continuation of the celebration for International Women’s Day Which was observed on Wednesday March 08, 2023. The kind gesture was aimed to give women a much-needed break from the kitchen today, so they were treated to lunch.

The initiative was collaboratively executed by the ranks of Regional Division #7, the Regional Democratic Council, and stakeholders.

Present at the exercise were the Regional Commander, Senior Superintendent Dion Moore, Deputy Superintendent Mr. O. Pitt, and ranks, Mayor Of Region #7 Mr. Gifford Marshall, Regional Executive officer Mr. K. Ward, Regional Prime Ministerial representative Mr. Ewing Ward, members of the station management committee, and Members of various religious groups.

As the world celebrates International Women's Day 2023, the Bartica Regional Division #7 Commander, Mr. Dion Moore in collaboration with the station Management committee treated the female ranks of the Bartica Police Station to lunch at Z2 restaurant.

Community outreach held at Batavia

On Thursday March 02, 2023 between 15:40 hrs and 17:30 hrs, Officer in Charge of #1 Sub Division ASP D. Chaitram, Inspector K. Crawford, and other ranks of the Bartica Police Station conducted a community outreach with residents of Batavia. The meeting was held at Batavia’s Heath Post.
During the outreach, the following issues were highlighted and briefly discussed :

1. Drug abuse within the community.
2. Domestic violence
3. District patrol
4. Youth Group Activities
5. Intelligence network strategy to curb crime within the village.
6. Unlicensed persons operating speed boats including school children.
7. Fundraising activities for the Community policing group.

There were approximately thirty (30) persons present.

Guyana's 53rd Republic Anniversary Flag Raising ceremony was held in Region #7

On February 22, 2023 between 19:30 hrs and 22:30 hrs a flag-raising ceremony was held in observance of Guyana’s 53rd Republic Anniversary status. The ceremony was held at the Bartica Community Center ground. Members of the Guyana Police Force Region #7, Region #7 Joint Services, Regional Democratic Council, Ministry of Health, and other citizens all took part in the celebration.

The ceremony commenced with a March around the township of Bartica. This was held by the Regional Democratic Council in collaboration with the Regional Commander Region #7, heads of the Regional Joints Services, and the Ministry of Health.

After the March, a programme was held where a variety of cultural items were done by students, teachers, and Health officials of Bartica. Brief remarks were done by the regional chairman and the feature addresses were given by the minister of parliament.

Those present at the Ceremony were Honorable Minister of Parliamentary Affairs & Goverance Ms. Gail Teixeira, Commander Region #7 Senior Superintendent Mr. Dion Moore, Regional Chairman Region #7 Mr. Kenneth Williams, REO Region #7 Mr. Kerwin Ward, Deputy Commander Region #7 D.S.P Oswal Pitt, Officers in Charge Fire Mr. Johnson, and Captain Jacobs of The Guyana Defence Force.

Memorial Service & Wreath Laying.

On Friday February 17, 2023 between 07:30 hrs and 08:50 hrs, Regional Police Division #7 in collaboration with the Bartica Town Council and the Regional Democratic Council Region #7 held a Memorial Service at the Bartica Community Centre.

The simple ceremony was held at the Bartica Community Center Auditorium to pay tribute to those that died in the Bartica massacre on Sunday February 17, 2008. Prayers were done by various religious groups. Officiating the Service was Pastor Lennox Ranking of The Cops And Faith Community Network.

Immediately after the ceremony, a wreath-laying exercise was done at the Monument Of Hope, which was constructed in memory of the lives lost.

Present at the service were Region #7 Mayor, Mr. Gifford Marshall and his Deputy Mayor, REO Mr. K. Ward, Commander Region #7, Senior Superintendent Dion Moore, Ranks of Bartica Police Station, and Students and relatives.

Stakeholders Meeting held at Region #7.

On Wednesday February 08, 2023 at 16:00hrs Regional Commander #7 Senior Superintendent Dion Moore and his team conducted a stakeholder meeting at the Regional Democratic Council Boardroom. Individuals from the business community, governmental and non-governmental organizations, community groups, and other institutions were invited.

During the meeting, strategies were highlighted and discussed on ways to reduce crime; and accidents on the roadways, ways to educate persons in keeping a safe neighborhood, and building partnerships in keeping with the force’s strategic plan.

Commander Moore in his address gave a brief update on the crime situation in the region. He stressed the Importance of keeping meetings to address issues that are affecting the residents of the communities.

Stakeholders voiced their issues and concerns which were all addressed by commander Moore.

Present at the meeting were Regional Chairman Mr. Kenneth Williams, REO Mr. K Ward, Deputy Mayor, Deputy Superintendent Mr. Pitt, Assistant Superintendent Mr. Griffith, Members of Cops and Faith, Station Management Committee, Bartica Chamber of Commerce, Prison officer Superintendent Shepherd, Fire Officer Mr. Johnson, Representative of MOH Dr. Jardine, Representative Of Ministry of Education, President Of The Speed Boat Association and Members of the Community Policing Groups.

Distribution of Hampers to Residents of Bartica.

Christmas is a time of giving and sharing.

On Thursday 22nd December, 2022 at 14:00 hrs Commander Region #7, Senior Superintendent Dion Moore, the Officer In-charge of Region #7 Traffic Department, Assistant Superintendent Griffith, and other ranks of the Bartica Police Station ventured into various areas in the town of Bartica to spread Christmas cheers to residents. Food hampers were distributed to some of the residents of Bartica.

During the distribution exercise, Commander Dion Moore and his team expressed their warmest thoughts and best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all the recipients and their families.
