A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS TO ALL
And
May the year 2017 be your best ever!
As we approach the end of 2016, we will like to pause and reflect on the exceeding good year we had.
Special thank you to all our Care Givers, Nannies, Domestic carers, Management and Senior staff.
Special thank you to all our clients
Special thank you to all our well-wishers and supporters.
Essential Care Agency would not be here had it not been for all of you.
Our year was filled with highs. We were fortunate to be able to serve the Guyanese community, thus giving back, because we care.
At the beginning of the year, we took the decision to continue our Give back “because we care” initiative, that we had started last year.
We supported the Influential Millennials Youth group with their numerous activities throughout the year. This group is a vibrant youth organisation that has been supporting their community for some time. Credit to all the youths and to Nakisha Allen, the driving force and a prenominal youth leader. Essential Care Agency gave monetary and other contributions like laptop, tablets, school bags and trophies.
We had our Staff Development day in April, where staff participated in personal and professional development activities. We also had our staff and family picnic in August-a time for the staff to relax and have a fun day with their colleagues and families. On that same day, persons were single out and received commendations for their “Go Getter” attitude. One such person was elevated to the post of Manager for our Georgetown branch office. Deon Holder, is still our Manager in Georgetown and is doing an amazing job. All children of our staff received school bags and stationery.
In August, we also welcome back two of our past staff and reopened our office in Berbice. Nickesha McPherson and Nikita Wong. Nickesha is now our Georgetown Senior Care supervisor and Nikita our Berbice Branch manager.
Our CEO, Mrs Elwyn Boyle took some time out in August to facilitate a FREE Personal Development course, GOALS, for the Guyana Foundation. The Guyana Foundation, supports individuals with Mental Health issues. This was the first time this UK accredited course was facilitated in Guyana.
We had a packed October. During this month we held two FREE Health outreach for the communities in Vreedenhoop and New Amsterdam. We joined forces with the health services in Vreedenhoop and was supported by the Mayor of New Amsterdam in our efforts to bring FREE blood sugar and pressure testing services to these communities. Some members even received new blood pressure machines and walking sticks on the day. In this month, we even managed to squeeze in a visit to Bartica to meet with community leaders with the intentions of offering the community our services in the New Year.
We also celebrated World Teachers’ Day, where we honoured all Guyanese teachers and singled out our unsung hero, Ms Rosemond, for her unselfish dedication to tutoring the young minds in her community.
International Day of Older Persons was also celebrated with our clients and Guyana’s elderly folks in October. Five very deserving elderly persons received food bags
In November we collaborated with the Ministry of Public health and PAHO and participated in a day of outreach at Durban Park. Persons received FREE health checks from Essential Care Agency.
For the latter part of this year, we decided to adopt a “Charity begins at Home” slogan. We felt that those closest to us are sometimes overlooked. We set out to creating an environment that foster support for our staff. Two of our senior staff, Ms Nickesha McPherson and Deon Holder graduated from their course of study in Elderly Care and Public Speaking respectively. Nickesha graduated with distinction and Deon was adjudged Valedictorian for her class. Congratulations to these two very inspirational members of our management team.
And in December, all staff also received a food bag and personal gift as a thank you from Essential Care Agency CEO Elwyn Boyle.
Essential Care Agency continues to grow its client base and will be continuing its “giving back” in 2017. We look forward to servicing Guyana’s communities.
We have a lot to be thankful for................
