Community Policing Groups;
5. Improving working relationships with other agencies within the Justice Sector and
other Government Departments to improve inter-agency achievements;
6. Establishing enhanced working relationships with regional law enforcement
agencies; and
7. Building a Police Force that through the correct training, access to the right
equipment and technologies and adherence to standards will better serve the

In keeping with the Guyana Police Forceโ€™s continued commitment to strengthening relationships with communities across the country, ranks conducted a community walkabout at Eteringbang Landing, Upper Cuyuni, Region #7, on Tuesday August 11, 2026.

The walkabout, conducted between 11:00hrs and 12:00hrs, was led by Inspector K. Crawford, accompanied by Corporal 24614 Moore, during which they visited several business establishments and interacted with residents and members of the business community.

During the engagements, emphasis was placed on several matters of public safety and security, including the importance of wearing life jackets while travelling in speedboats, the dangers associated with drug abuse, the need to promptly report criminal and illegal activities to the Police, and matters relating to illegal immigration.

Ranks also listened to concerns raised during the interactions and provided appropriate advice and guidance on issues affecting persons within the community.

Residents and business proprietors welcomed the initiative and expressed appreciation for the Police presence and engagement.

They were assured that similar walkabouts and community engagements will continue as the Guyana Police Force works to strengthen Police-community relations and promote safer communities.

Ranks of Regional Police Division #6 recently conducted community engagements in Bushlot Village, Whim Police Station District, Yakusari Village, Black Bush Polder, and Adelphi, East Canje, Berbice, between Friday, August 7, and Sunday, August 9, 2026.

The engagements were conducted by Inspector Brandt, Inspector Seeram and Sergeant Cameron, who interacted with the residents and provided an opportunity for community members to voice their concerns.

During the engagements, residents were encouraged to remain vigilant within their surroundings and to report any unusual activities to the police.

These initiatives forms part of the Guyana Police Forceโ€™s objective aimed at enhancing public trust and confidence by ensuring safety and security through competence, professionalism, and active community engagement.

On August 8, 2026 Corporal Dorris of the Ogle Police Outpost, Traffic Department gave a lecture to motor lorry drivers on the Ogle New Highway, East Coast Demerara.

The following topics were discussed:

โ€ข Types of Accidents
โ€ข Driving under the Influence
โ€ข How to use Traffic Signs & Signals and Road Markings correctly

โ€ข Efficacy of vehicle Lights
โ€ข Improper display of Front and Rear ID marks
โ€ข Dangers of Blurred ID marks
โ€ข Loading of vehicles
โ€ข Vehicle Maintenance

This interactive lecture was an opportunity for drivers to ask questions which were answered by Corporal Dorris.

The Guyana Police Force continues to engage all road users, aimed at reducing accidents on our countryโ€™s roadways.

Inspector Caleb along with the ranks from the Sparendaam Police Station conducted community outreach program among business owners on Monday, August 10, 2026, in Industry, East Coast Demerara.

Discussions on issues such as crime prevention, personal safety, and the importance of working with the Police to solve problems within the community.

The business owners showed their readiness to work together for a more secured environment.
This shows the continued effort by the Guyana Police Force to partner with the community and to work hand in hand with the citizens.
