COLOMBIA’S RESIDENT AMBASSADOR BIDS FAREWELL TO GUYANA’S MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

Today, His Excelency Graybern Livingston Forbes, Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia paid a farewell courtesy call on the Honourable Hugh Hilton Todd, M.P; Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

His Excellency Graybern Livingston Forbes presented his letters of credence to His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali on March 25, 2025, at the Office of the President.

H.E. Livingston Forbes expressed his gratitude to Minister Todd and the government of Guyana for the generous hospitality and support provided for the strengthening of Colombia/Guyana relations.

Guyana and Colombia established diplomatic relations on December 18, 1970.

High Commissioner Seeraj Presents Credentials to President of Sri Lanka

On 25 August 2026, His Excellency Dharamkumar Seeraj presented his Letter of Credence to His Excellency Anura Kumara Dissanayake, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, formally accrediting him as Non-Resident High Commissioner of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana to Sri Lanka.

During the occasion, High Commissioner Seeraj reaffirmed Guyana’s commitment to further strengthening the bonds of friendship, cooperation, and collaboration between the two countries.

Guyana and Sri Lanka established diplomatic relations on 14 July 1974, and continue to maintain active cooperation across areas of mutual interest.

His Excellency Dharamkumar Seeraj also serves as High Commissioner of Guyana to the Republic of India, from where he is now concurrently accredited to Sri Lanka.

Information Note: Today, Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hugh Hilton Todd received a courtesy call from Zimbabwe’s non-resident Ambassador to Guyana, His Excellency Patrick Ronald Mutasa.

Ambassador Mutasa, presented today his letters of credence to His Excellency President Irfaan Ali, at the Office of the President and is the successor of His Excellency Paul Chikawa who was accredited on August 27, 2024.

Guyana and Zimbabwe established diplomatic relations on June 19, 1980.

Information Note: On Tuesday, August 18, Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hugh Hilton Todd met with the Mexican Ambassador to Guyana, His Excellency Mauricio Vizcaíno Crespo and the French Deputy Chief of Mission Joffrey Bonnet.

Minister Todd engaged with both representatives on priority areas in Global security, and the critical role of global governance initiatives within the United Nations Framework, including the General Assembly and Security Council.

CANADA’S HIGH COMMISSIONER BIDS FAREWELL TO GUYANA’S MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

H.E. Sebastien Sigouin, High Commissioner of Canada, paid a farewell courtesy call on the Honourable Hugh Hilton Todd, M.P., Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation today Monday 17 August 2026.

High Commissioner Sigouin presented his Credentials to His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali on September 10, 2024.

Minister Todd acknowledged High Commissioner Sigouin’s role in promoting Guyana/Canada relations over the past two years.

The outgoing High Commissioner expressed his appreciation to the Honourable Minister and the Government of Guyana for the valuable support provided during his tour of duty in Guyana.

Guyana Accredits Ambassador to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

On July 28th, 2026. Guyana accredited its first Ambassador (non-resident) to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Safraaz Ahmad Shadood who currently serves as Guyana’s Ambassador to the State of Qatar presented his letter of credence to His Excellency Abdul Majeed Al Smari, the Deputy Minister for Protocol Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia accrediting him as Guyana's non-resident Ambassador.

After the presentation of credentials, Ambassador Shadood and His Excellency Al Smari held discussions on strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Guyana established formal diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on February 22, 2012.
