On behalf of the Guyana Youth and Student movement, the youth arm of the PNCR, we express our deepest condolences to the families and communities affected by the recent fire in Mahdia. We stand in solidarity with all those impacted by this tragedy, and we offer our support to those who are grieving.

We call for a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire to ensure that measures are put in place to protect the lives of students in dormitories. The safety and well-being of our youth are of utmost importance, and we must ensure that they are always protected in their educational environments.

We urge the government and relevant authorities to take swift action to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. Our thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones, and we will continue to advocate for the safety and security of our youth in all aspects of their lives.

May their souls rest in peace.

The Guyana Youth and Student Movement celebrates with one of our VIBRANT comrades, Councillor Akeem Peter who has become the YOUNGEST DEPUTY MAYOR within the City of Georgetown.

We are excited and know that He is the man for the job. By this election, it has confirmed that this government is concerned with the interests of the equal representation of us, young people even within our local democracy.

Thus, we remain COMMITTED to the APNU/AFC government and wish to congratulate again the YOUNGEST DEPUTY MAYOR within the city of Georgetown, Councillor Akeem Peter.
