THAG executives met with representatives of the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) to discuss its Caribbean Plastics Recycling Project, funded by The Coca-Cola Foundation, and its potential expansion to Guyana.

The meeting examined the growing impact of plastic pollution and inadequate waste-management systems on Guyanaโ€™s communities, natural environment and tourism product. Discussions focused on strengthening local recycling capacity, expanding collection infrastructure, supporting sustained public education and building stronger partnerships among government, the private sector and community organisations.

THAG also highlighted the need for a coordinated, long-term approach that includes reliable collection systems, recycling facilities, enforcement and incentives for responsible disposal.

THAG welcomes the initiative and looks forward to continued engagement on practical solutions that can contribute to cleaner communities and a more sustainable tourism industry. โ™ป๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡พ
