Persons living with disabilities in Region Six have been assured of access to benefits from the soon-to-be-launched Guyana Development Bank.

Minister of Public Service, Government Efficiency and Implementation, Zulfikar Ally, says the bank will provide zero-interest, collateral-free loans to support persons in starting or expanding businesses.

Speaking at an engagement at the Empower Guyana Centre in Palmyra, Minister Ally encouraged persons to form groups to maximize their access to financing.

He said groups of ten persons, for example, could potentially access thirty million dollars collectively to establish a business venture.

Minister Ally also said applicants will receive step-by-step assistance with developing business plans, managing finances and repaying their loans.

The engagement also gave persons living with disabilities an opportunity to ask questions and receive additional information about the bank.
