Our environment is our shared responsibility. Every tree planted, every piece of litter properly disposed of, and every effort to conserve water and energy helps create a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future for generations to come.

This World Environment Day, let us commit to protecting our natural resources, reducing pollution, and taking action against climate change. Together, our small actions can make a big difference.

Protect the Earth today for a better tomorrow.

As the rainy season continues, flu cases often increase due to cooler temperatures and more time spent indoors. Be aware of common flu symptoms such as fever, chills, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, headache, body aches, fatigue, and sometimes nausea or vomiting.

If you experience these symptoms, get plenty of rest, drink lots of fluids, and seek medical attention if your condition worsens. Protect yourself and your family by washing your hands regularly, covering coughs and sneezes, and staying home when sick.

Stay informed, stay healthy, and take steps to prevent the spread of flu this rainy season. Prevention is always better than cure.

Last Friday, a workshop was held at the Quacy Paddy Conference Room by the Ministry of Health as part of its ongoing efforts to modernize healthcare services across Guyana. The session introduced a new digital software system designed to improve the management and storage of patient records within the healthcare system.

This initiative forms part of the Government of Guyana’s vision, led by the Ministry of Health, to transition from paper-based record keeping to a more efficient and secure digital health records system. Region 10 was among the first regions to be introduced to the software, allowing healthcare personnel to gain an understanding of its functions, benefits, and implementation process.
The workshop provided participants with valuable insight into how the system will enhance data management, improve access to patient information, strengthen healthcare delivery, and support better decision-making throughout the health sector. This marks an important first step in preparing Region 10 for the future of digital healthcare and improved patient services.
