Construction of the first street of about 30 in our NDC has begun! Soon the Perseverance Burial Ground street, Now-or-never/Bushy Park street(Mildred Halley Street), Now-or-never Middlewalk, Belmont Middle walk, Cottage Middlewalk, Cottage Street opposite the Cottage Nursery School, and several others in Zeskinderen will commence. Hard work pays off. It's great to reap the results of your confidence in myself and team.

PSA: There is currently a pandemic-like situation with dengue in our country. Of course, this is due mainly to the high surge of the aegis aegypti mosquitoes. The fluctuations in weather patterns over the last few days have assisted in their procreation, therefore we can expect a new surge of mosquitoes (after a few days of some places experiencing no mosquitoes at all). At all times we are to maintain proper practices in the storage of water on our properties. Black tanks are to be completely covered, this includes the overflow outlet - mosquitoes can make their way through there and lay their eggs. Additionally, we should dig proper drains to prevent stagnation of water on our properties, as well weeding our yards to prevent cover for these deadly insects. After stagnation cannot be prevented then take steps by purchasing larvaecide to kill the mosquito larvae, spraying as often as instructed. These mosquitoes are usually most active in the late afternoons and early mornings, hence be sure to take extra precautions during those periods. Doing these simple, but very important things, will help us successfully reducing the instances of Dengue in our communities.

PSA: Several communities within the Joe-Joe Hook/Farm NDC have recently been affected by poor water supply from the GWI operated pump station in Perseverance. This is due largely to load-shedding within the area. GWI has said that they've been waiting on GPL technicians to address the issue, and are anticipating that they will do so today, Friday June 28th, 2024. I will continue to follow up with these agencies until the matter is resolved.

Public Service Announcement: this evening at 4pm, there will be a public consultation forum at the Fairfield Community Centre on the proposed road expansion project. Please come and learn about what will be done and what is required of us. Share this with as many persons as possible.

The students and staff of the Bygeval Secondary School have for the last 2 hours been made to endure the assault of thick smoke coming from the estates North of it. The fire service cannot quell this in a timely manner. Ministry of Education - Guyana , Regional Democratic Council, Region No. 5 please allow the school administration to send the staff and students home before the effects become much worse. Students and staff suffering from asthma have been sent to a quarantine area that is inadequate, in hope of easing the effects on them. We need your urgent response.

For more than a year, there's been a recurring issue of non-functional streetlights within our NDC. Several reports were made to council and the Ministry if Public Works. Thankfully, the Ministry is finally in the process of installing new lamps in various villages throughout the NDC. I will continue to press the Ministry until all our community roadways are lit adequately at nights.

This is the situation for the students and teachers heading to the Bygeval Secondary school. The road was made higher than the sidewalk and floods when it rains. Ministry of Education - Guyana Regional Democratic Council, Region No. 5 please address this immediately.
